The trick with the subs would be in luring them to the surface... Hmmmm... How would a boatload of rednecks attract the attention of a Soviet Block Submarine???

Hmmm.....

Hmm, Gar is probably more tasty than Carp, but prepared right, Carp can be kinda tasty.

Hmm, luring soviets to the surface...Good old American capitalism, like FBJ said.

Gar is ALLLLL bones........ Not an edible fish in my book....

I was thinking maybe those rednecks could drop hydrophones underwater and then mimick the sound of a passing Smirnoff Cargo ship.....

Thought I would add a couple of shots. This is a 1/18th scale P-47D Razorback, "Jabo" 42-25990. It's from the 9th AF, 405th FG, 509th FS. The pilot is listed on the side as Lt. Bob Hartmann.

It took a little doing to hang it up, it's pretty heavy and my initial anchor line was 2 lb. test line that broke on a quick test! So I had to use 8 lb. test line to hold it up.

We sell quite a few of these in our gift shop at the museum. I was disappointed to find all of the Corsairs gone by the time I got there, but the P-47 looks good too. The company, 21st Century toys, makes a few of these and I love the P-38 they have, but we haven't gotten any at the museum...yet!

To check out their other models, look here:
http://www.internethobbies.com/21st-...-aircraft.html

The site sells Jabo for $62.21 on sale, normally $74.95. We sell them in the museum for $52.00, so it looks like I got a deal.

I uh...I already have a few.
I've got the Spit Mk.II in 1939 colour scheme (underside half white, half black), a Bf-109E4, P-51D "Lou IV", and two Corsairs; one VMF-512 "Checkerboarders" and the other one British.

Wow! I had a hell of a time convincing the wife to let me hang up that one. She said "no more", but I will have to get some roses when I bring home the P-38! Where did you put all of those?

They're in storage at the moment. My wife got tired of stepping around them and/or banging her head on them.

I ordered a couple of them on-line. The stores in Nova Scotia don't carry much of that sort of thing, unfortunately. I'd love to have the entire collection, but there's no way I could justify shelling out the bucks.

Yes, I can see where putting them out could be a problem. I have mine hanging near the fish tank, so it's out of the walkway.

It would be cool to have all of them, but like you said, it's expensive and then there's the issue of where to put them. I have a vaulted ceiling in the living room and it would be cool to have them all up like a big dogfight, but I think if I did that, I'd be in the doghouse indefinitely!

Maginifiers are a must when modelling, at least for me, trackend. The P-47 comes prepainted and ready to go, you just have to put the wings on and add the armament. Easy to assemble, so it was pretty quick and painless. I would love to get my hands on one and weather it.

The 21st Century Toy planes are actually more like toys than models, but they're very detailed and look great when set up properly. Some of them come with pilots and some don't, but you can order pilot figures individually. The Corsairs' wings even fold up (not quite completely), which is a nice touch. They all have retractable landing gear, and like evan said they're all pre-painted.
