I use photoshop only. You might try Paint Shop Pro, my wife loves it and has had good results with that as well. When you shrink them down, do it at 72 dpi. Anything higher is a waste of pixels and space. Screens display best at 72 dpi. They don't print well at that size, but its a good tradeoff for quality and bandwidth.

Experiments in sepia. These shots were taken in Solvang, California, a Scandinavian influenced town.

Nice pics Eric I think pic one is my favourite the foreground foliage gives it a nice sense of depth and the toning adds punch, shame about the car but you cant do the impossible and can only shoot whats there unless you wait for hours for the guy to move it of course
At least you didnt have the photographers nightmare bloody telephone wires and TV ariels.
I enjoyed your shots Eric cheers.

Thanks Lee. I know, the bloody car got on the shot. I was shooting across a busy street and that was the best I could do. Ah well, I still like it.

Bigma, non-filtered. I rarely use the other lenses much anymore, except for air to air shoots.

Who know, or cleaner water perhaps...

It's calendar season once again. Here is my first 2008 calendar preview. It's already posted to my new online store at:
Van Gilder Aviation Photography Store : CafePress.com

They print a whole lot better than my previous calendar publisher and use a nicer quality paper.

Eric:

You do good work, I am impressed ! I have a Nikon N51 (film) and a
Nikon D70 (digital), with three lenses. The one that came on the cameras,
plus a 70-300MM telephoto and a "doubler". Just bought a remote for
the D70 this week. I have a Meade 5" telescope and have a camera
adapter for it. Will have to show you my photos of outer space.

Charles

Thanks Charles!

That would be cool to see your space shots. I have the D50. I use the 28-80mm Nikkor for my air to air shots and I was using the Nikkor 70-300mm before I bought the Sigma 50-500mm. I carry the 70-300 with me still in case someone wants to borrow it when I am out shooting. I always find a taker for it.
