jrk: it looks like but it was quite a weak Cyclone (it was still the largest the area had seen since the 1960's). I managed to sleep through the worst of it as well!
Lemur from the time when I was in Madagascar...

Country: | Outstanding pics, Gnomey!
Could you please make them just a bit smaller from now on though? It's just that they're...well...huge! |

Country: | I know they are huge (2048*1536), I just haven't got around to resizing the all yet (there are too many)
Smaller version can be found here: http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/hno...r=4cdc&.src=ph. I will continue to upload the pictures here but they are all in that link if you wish to have a look before I upload them here.

Country: | Couple of pics taken from the BBC News Website.
This image of a peppercorn and a grain of salt taken by David McCarthy is the overall winner (and close-up category winner) in this year's Visions of Science Photographic Awards. The competition is sponsored by Novartis and The Daily Telegraph. (İDavid McCarthy)
The surface tension of water supports a metal paperclip. By photographing it using a grille in front of the light source, the deformation of the water caused by the clip's weight can be seen. (İRobert Anderson )
Cancer cells can spread through the body in a process known as metastasis. This cancer cell is moving down a pore in a filter. The image was taken at Cancer Research UK, where the spread of cancer is studied in the hope of finding a cure. (İAnne Weston )
