| Hey Ivan that looks cool, are you looking for accuracy in the markings?... or happy with it as it stands? Happy to give you some extra info if necessary...

| Hi Wayne, Any extra information would be appreciated. Keep in mind though that this isn't supposed to be any particular historical aircraft. It is only a set of generic markings but based somewhat on aircraft from the Tainan Koku Tai in Taiwan. Here are some issues I already know about: 115 happens to be the tail marking from a Monogram A6M5 that I built about 30 years ago. All my current A6M types carry that marking. There should be a diagonal strip aft of the fuselage national insignia. I may put that on later but got tired after scribing all the panel lines in the aft fuselage. The panel lines are also somewhat inaccurate. The fuselage national insignia is too far aft. It is there because the model divides at the rear edge of the canopy. I may fix it later. The national insignia on the wings is also a touch too far outboard. I MAY fix that eventually. The IFF stripe on the wing leading edge should not be there. I just got lazy. The engine reduction gear housing shold be a darker blue gray. The overall aircraft colour isn't quite right but it is the closest (IMHO) from the default palette. - Ivan. |

| If it is not mean't to be any particular aircraft then I guess it doesnt matter too much then..... The Yellow IFF stripe was implemented on 'grey' actually grey-Green Zeroes just before the battle of Santa Cruz in October 1942. A few photo's do show this feature, most associate it with Zeroes with Dark Green upper surfaces. The Red warning stripe on the wing is not closed in, that is in the rectangular form that is depicted, the outer short portion was not used. Tainan Ku Zeroes were marked with a V- prefix so the normal would be V-115 if you continue with the 115.

| Hi Wayne, Thanks for the information. I removed the yellow IFF stripes this morning. My reference for the red outline of the flap area on the wing upper surface is Aero Detail #7. The image drawn by Shigeru Nohara shows a fully boxed outline. Regarding the 115 marking, I think I'll leave it the way it is because it is only intended as a generic marking and the missing part is typically a unit designation. Also, the colour of the 115 is entirely arbitrary. I wanted to paint the 115 with a red outline, but the fact is that the vertical bar on the 1 is only 4 pixels wide and I couldn't texture it with an outline in a convincing manner. The texturing scale I am limited to for this AF99 / CFS aircraft is 256 pixels over 10 FEET. FWIW, some of the other aircraft I have built were more like 256 pixels over 16 feet, so each pixel gets to be pretty large and detail is limited. Thanks. - Ivan. |

| Thanks Guys. There is more to it than it appears here with building planes for CFS1. You have to determine most of the viewing planes manually and the typical tool used is AF99 which doesn't give much flexibility. Here is another screenshot of my B-25C. There are still a bunch of small issues. I got the landing gear doors wrong on the nose gear. There should be a window just in front of the horizontal stabilizer and there is a small bleed between the cockpit and the rest of the fuselage. The difference between this and the last screenshot is that this one has most of the panel lines. - Ivan. Last edited by Ivan1GFP; 08-06-2009 at 05:55 PM. Reason: Minor Explanation |

| Here is yet another project. This one was actually quite simple to build except for the rocket exhausts. - Ivan. |

| Attached are basic untextured models for a Albatros D.Va and a mystery plane. Any guesses as to what the mystery plane actually is supposed to be? - Ivan. |
