Actually no, he is California based, but he goes all over. Here is a small shot of Doug's plane.

Edit: Who would have thought there would be more than one purple Sukhois?!

Yes, Doug was on the Canadian team. Whether he still is or not, I don't know. Looks like that one is different. The star-like marking on the cowl is red on the one in your pictures, black on Doug Jardine's. Odd coincidence that we have planes with almost identical markings getting their picture taken by 2 guys on a website.

Very nice shots - I would love to hear the noise that Emil makes flying past...
Is that a Nieuport 28 up there with the Dr.1's?

I believe it a Nieuport 28 and the 109 sounds in my opinion much sweeter then the Merlin much more business like I was taking tickets when the Lanc drove by and got 1 shot and 2 of the grass said I'll get him tommorrow due to family probs he didn;t return . And not to sound cocky I'll include what I think a BoB flight should look like

some more one is Luftwaffe Experten Oscar Boesch first flying with JG 3 'Udet' as a high-altitude fighter and Sturm Staffel I. Sturm Staffel I suffered nearly 580% casualties. Boesch volunteered for this unit after a experiencing the heavy bombing of Hamm on Apr 15 1944. In all, Oscar Boesch flew 120 combat missions and scored 18 victories including six B-17s, two B-24s, a Mustang, a Spitfire, two Yak-9s (one of which he rammed head-on), two La-5s and four Sturmoviks.
and the gent sitting by the Spit is Charlie Fox 412Sqn RCAF who destoyed 4 aircraft (3x190's 1x109 ) damaged 4 others 163 vehicles including wounding Rommel 22 locomotives and was also the tailend charlie in the last allied sortie during hostilities
The C47 was in the lead element on D day the target was st Mere Eglise also used at Arnhem
And the plug getting lashed in the Tiger Moth is me

Oskar still looks good, I see he is protecting his balding head from the suns evil rays. PB did he take it off so you could see the terrible dent he earned while in a stupid motorcycle accident in 1944 summer. he had 4 others decided to zoom around the field and hangars and a heavy truck came around the corner and ran all of them over. Oskar was out of commission for some 2 months due to the injuries. I also have him down fro 19 kills though credited with 18. He was an outstanding personality of Sturmstaffel 1 which was absorbed into IV./JG 3. Oskar then flying usually black 14 SturmFw in 11th later 14.Sturm/JG 3, his last a/c was black 13 when he met a Soviet Yak head-on and the sturdiness of his Fw 190 BMW engine saved his life the Yak disintegrated. I have many stories from the man, One instance in December of 44 when his gruppe attacked the rear of a B-26 group and shot at least 25 down. Oskars Fw 190 engine was having problems and he was one of the last Fw in the assault and came under .50 fire from at least 5 B-26's which shot his Fw 190 to pieces, Oskar bailed out at low level which was common due to the presence of being shot out of the chute. he smashed through some tall Fir trees covered with snow and had to have local Belgium villagers assist him getting his chute from being stuck so high up. with a bummed leg and chute his leather flying suit torn up he hobbled to the closest rail and train station getting back to base the next day. Herr Bösch still has remnants of that Fw 190 and ammo encased in a picture frame.

thanks pb !

Yeah thats an interesting scar or dent and thanks very much for some info on Oscar its not often one gets the chance to talk one on one usually there is a crowd
the guy barely visable behind him was also a Luftwaffe pilot but I cannot recall his name . Just a sidenote the guys in the Belle turned the power on for and let me play with the top turret and for the life of me I don't know how they were able to even shoot at a target the visability from that position is absolutely brutal and the guns don't servo around all that quick I had to crouch down to get in it . Bailing out was also a tricky deal if your of any size
