I have been wondering how much is the size - diameter - of the thunder for a long time.
It looks 10 meters and more.

I had a lighting stike hit about40ft from me in Alabama. Scared the living feces out of me. It hit a huge Fir tree about 80ft+ tall. The whole tree was steaming. And I almost soiled myself with the loud thunder report. Needless to say, sitting on the porch was over.

On my Grandma's farm several years ago, she had lightning strike near a crick that a few cows were drinking out of. I do not know how close it was to the cows, but it was close enough to fry 2 of them clear through.
