Country: | Nobody wins in war.
I hope to god I never have to experience war firsthand. |

Country: | I hope you never have to experience it either, but I disagree with your first statement. Nobody wins in war? I am sure that thousands of survivors of the death camps the Nazis set up would disagree. If the cause is just, there are winners.

Country: | It is similar to the type of training that SEALS and all other elite forces go through. It just emphasises more on the clandestine training of soldiers from other countries and working with soldiers from other countries or rebels, etc...
A lot of it is all in the mind and you have to want it.

Yes, a side does win if the cause is just, like liberating death camps. So I apologize for my first statement. |

Country: | No need to apologize, it's just another way of looking at it.

A lot of it is all in the mind and you have to want it. | Yeah, I got curious because I was reading Tom Clancy: Shadow Warriors.
It seemed very interesting at what Special Forces do. Especially the story of how the OSS sent American and French troops behind German lines in France to train French Militias. I'll have to post the story soon.
And I'll also wanted to know because the 20th Special Forces have a unit stationed here in Auburn.

If you look at it complexely, they aren't/weren't winners, they were loosers; they lost their families, homes, humanity, they were stigmated for ther rest of their lives, many of them committed suicides (eg. Sophie's Choice). They would be definitely much more happy if there wasn't anything like WW2. both you and Zaitsev are right: there's no winners in war - unless the war liberates someone (like in Iraq, for exmaple). |

Country: | Very true Pisis. Soldiers from the wars may also come back with Flashbacks or have injuries that will affect them their entire lives.
