In response to Pb's comments...

Well you can buy into the "I was only 8yo" when Aires committed his terrorism, but you can't ignore that Obama continued to hang around this guy, work with him, sit on boards/commissions with him and even announced his Illinois senate career in his GD house. To claim distance from such a person is utter and complete BULLSH!T.

Pb, you may find Obama's comments to Joe Wurzelbacher funny and amuzing. I personally find them scary and very telling of Obama's agenda. The levity that you find in that exchange may be indicative of what Canada once was. I personally don't want my country changing in that direction.

C'mon Pb you are above these games. You sound just like Obama, where morality is shades of grey. Disappointing.

So let's drop it. I'm irrational. You are disappointing.

I think we're two irrational blokes, then... Because I agree with most of your statements...

But who am I to judge your country ? In Québec I'm a Conservative redneck and in Ontario I'm a revolutionist bastard, so go figure !

Hey, guys, I didn't mean this to be personal. Pb is a good guy with his own opinions. He just happens to be wrong. And being wrong is not a commodity that is to be envied.

Seriously, I didn't wish my comments to become personal and if I insulted Pb I'm sorry. But I don't care what anybody says, FlyboyJ is wrong to throw away his vote. That would be like not responding to his wife when she asks, "Honey what do you want to do for our Saturday date night?"

It just can't lead to good things.

Those who think there is nothing to worry about a Obama white House only need to look back at the mans life to get a feel for who he is and what he represents. Look at his friends, family, business dealings, voting record and church attended.

The President of the United States is a very powerful position. Do you want a man who has practiced Liberation Theology for 20 years as a religion to appoint Supreme Court Justices and federal judges? If you do then he is your man. I am not blinded by the media circus and can only look at his record not what hype is projected on him.

Just remember all men are not created equal and communism has been a dismal and horrible scourge on this world for 90 years. It does not work.

These are scary times. The US is headed in a different direction and it worries me to contemplate what my boys will have to either endure or correct.

you know Matt your own parents were probably freaking out, the WW 2 age thought highly of Ike but not so of Kennedy and others after him and yet we made it through without total disaster

think with your head, watch, stop and think, observe, and then plan. It is a must in the high back country it should be in the lowlands amongst the peoples

Well I hear ya, Erich. But personally I believe that Kennedy was a populist and highly overrated. He did call the Cuban Crisis right. But then again, I believe that Bush will ultimately not be villified for our forays into Iraq either. And certainly most would not compare the two.

I cannot share the same worry, but only because we would remember how stubborn Americans can become under the right circumstances.

But, for those still in a mood to study the candidates... here is a nice introduction to LIBERATION THEOLOGY... which I would NOT bring up again had it not been for the fact that one of the candidates studied it, in church, regularly, as preached by a pastor who shows little regard for any other way of life, practised it in his role community organizing, and presumably lived his and his family life according to the principles of the movement - and did so for 20 (TWENTY!) years:

Link:
Liberation Theology

He has either had a change of heart, or not. Nobody knows, or will know unless one day it is too late to do anything about stopping that kind of philosophy from infiltrating our national government.

Like Robert Oppenheimer who, following the Trinity detonation of his Atomic weapon, declared in essence that he knew he had unleashed a destroyer of worlds - Obama very well could, one day, realize that he may have set loose an uncontrollable force.

And, I would have to differ with the sense that Obama is little different from John Kennedy... I believe there is a world of difference between the two, far beyond their being merely "different" or "new".

Obama is either a brilliant radical who has fooled his followers, or he is a man who got where is he today by one route and will not be taking that route from here on out.
