Country: | I too heard that on the radio. May their virgin's armpits be infested with fleas. I sure as hell hope that Bush's open season on Iranian advisors netted a bunch of those ***** too. May their mothers weep until the end of time.

Country: | Yeap this is in Najaf, one of the cities that we handed back to the Iraqis a few months ago. It is the holiest city for the Shiites. A US Helicopter was shot down there as well during the fighting.

Country: | I remember when I was down there in Iraq we launched an offensive together with the Marines to retake the city from insurgents. We successfully did so with the loss of quite a few good men. I remember having to resupply the ground pounders and fly the men to locations as well as extract them and carry there wounded.
As soon as the battle was one, what did we do, pull out and let them have it again and now look whats happening. They are doing it again...

Country: | I'm increasingly having less and less sympathy for the Iraqis and their attendant tribal BS.

Country: | Or better yet, prove the world right. Kick them out of their country, steal their oil and loot their antiquities.

matt was chatting in yahoo some liberals from your part of the world were complaining about the number of troops that were lost retaking Najaf compared to the insurgents losing 250 plus. some how can sympathise with what they the liberals were saying. Najaf was taken before now has to be retaken again. but being a realist war goes like that especially a political war as intense as this one is turning out to be. by the way i am not a liberal in case you thought i had changed over night |

Country: | The press is focusing upon how the operation was bungled. While they ignore the damage to the enemy. Talk about an agenda.

Country: | Yeah, it doesn't surprise me either that the media are focussing on the losses rather than the gains which are considerably more than the losses.

Country: | Are you surprised at how the media reacts. Always find the negative never the positive. Thats how the media reacts. Trouble is most at home gobble it up like gosspil and go around spreading it like strawberry jam |

Country: | Yeap. I used to get all hot and bothered about it, but eversince experiencing it in a combat zone and seeing what is reported and what really is going on, I just let it blow over my shoulder. The truth is out there.
