Al-Qaeda in Iraq leader 'killed'

Reports from Iraq say the militant leader who took over from the late Abu Musab al-Zarqawi as al-Qaeda leader in the country has been killed.
Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, also known as Ayyub al-Masri, was identified by US forces as Zarqawi's successor after he was killed in a US raid in June 2006.

A correspondent for Arabia TV in Baghdad reports that al-Muhajir was killed in a US-led military raid.

Reports of his death, quoting unnamed Iraqi sources, cannot be confirmed.

Good job, boys!

With any luck, they can't confirm the report because some people with the right attitude to reducing Government spending took him out in a chopper over the Arabian Sea and slung him out. Bags of sharks round there.

Difficult to make a martyr out of someone who just vanished without trace.
