Country: | The Americans have cut off the borders to Canada Again!!!! It was due to the Chicken Virus, this was an isolated incodent which has been dealt with, there is no processed chicken with the virus that has made it through to the states, the American borders have been closed to Canadian livestock yet Again! back where we f*cking started, this is Bush's big f*ck you to Canada for bringing the softwood lumber dispute to the WTO.
This anger is not directed to The American people, its directed at the C*ck Suckers that run the American Government.

Is this action covered in the NAFTA Agreement if it turns out to be legit?
Does it affect Canadian Exports going to the other NAFTA parter? (Mexico)
Bush may have nothing to do with this as there are specific import laws that dictate when certain imports are not allowed to enter the country. Governor, President or God doesn't have the authority to change those law and I bet they are aligned with NAFTA provisions....
Let me know if you know otherwise....

Country: | I can't find any info on this. Did they put a ban on all Canadian livestock or just poultry? I can understand a certain amount of fear from US authorities, given the ongoing virus scare. The infected birds in BC weren't infected with "the" virus as I recall, but a strain that wasn't infectious to humans. However, tensions are a little high right now and people aren't taking any chances. Let's hope the ban doesn't last too long. |

The United States banned poultry from mainland British Columbia because of a case of bird flu, but Canadian officials say the virus is not the virulent strain in Southeast Asia that has been blamed for more than 60 human deaths.
The interim ban was announced Monday by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The governments of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan indicated they would take similar action.
Canada's chief veterinary officer Dr. Brian Evans said he received a letter from American officials saying they are restricting imports of poultry products from the British Columbia mainland until they get a full assessment of the situation in the three-mile area around the farm affected by avian flu.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said the strain of bird flu infecting a duck at a farm in Chilliwack, just outside of Vancouver, is different from the virulent outbreak among birds in Asia. Nevertheless, they have started killing about 56,000 birds on the farm with carbon dioxide gas as a precaution.
The H5 virus found at the farm is a low pathogenic North American strain, unlike the deadly H5N1 strain in Asia. Federal officials have assured Canadians that the strain of the flu found in British Columbia poses no threat to human health.

Country: | If this is the case for BC, the odds are the U.S has banned all poultry imports from East Europe and maybe Britain. Nothing against them, since East Europe is culling thousands of birds because a few were seen infected.
The U.S still bans British beef after the CJD of the 90s. Which, I believe is silly since it hasn't been a problem for a long time. Especially after they've reopened the market for Canadian beef who had the problem much closer to date than Britain.

| Yes but its still a big deal, I guess the government is not making a huge uproar over this because it will f*ck the market. Quote: |

| It is silly I agree, but we are Americas largest trade partner and that beef ban really hurt our cattle industry, I meen big time, and it was already f*cked to begin with.

Country: | Well here is how I see it. If there was any problem with poultry from another country and I dont give a **** if it was Canada or Timbuktoo the United States has a right to ban that product form coming into its borders. The US has a right to keep whatever it wants from coming in, just as Canada does. I say Right ON and the US government is doing the right thing.
If you have a problem with it Hussars then dont buy American products, I dont give a ****!
