Well, Japan are relying on the shroud of the political climate at the moment. Australia may not want to be thrown into the Asian market of trouble again after the 1940s.

I agree Wild The Australian Govt does bugger all about Japanese Whaling and Fishing Fleets entering Australian AntArtic Territory. Yet Same Governments hammers Indonesian Fishing Fleets without impunity. Doesn't make sense. As far as I am concerned enter any of our waters and you are poaching whales seals fish birdlife or even krill. Your boats are confiscated crews are arrested and sent home or jailed. This Research Bullshit by the Japanese is just that BULLSHIT. And I agree with Greenpeace or other Conservation Groups in the Southern Ocean for Japanese Whaling and Fishing Fleets to be banned entirely and if necassary by the above measures we enforce on Indonesian Fishing Vessels

I totally agree Emac.

Would love to set our Orions on them with dummy torpedoes and give them a bit of a shake up.

I agree Lucky. When I was a kid in Northern New South Wales. We would watch the Whaling boats leave Byron Bay and come back later full of whale Carcasses ready to be processed. It was a stinking Bloody Trade and Business. And at times when the Whales were being cut up on the Slips you would see sharks come in chewing and chomping away on Dead Whales just metres from the Slips and the Whalers and Processors, It was a bloody horrible process with this blood and gore in the water and sharks biting of huge chunks of Whale flesh. And you know Lucky I have seen animals killed before had even shot wild pigs and ferral animals in my time. But never have I witnessed such a barbaric Trade as whaling. I have seen cattle and sheep being slaughtered for processing for meat and food but that was tame in comparison to what the Whaling Industry does or had done. I was glad to see the Whaling Industry in Australia finish. Now those old Whaling Stations on the East Coast of Australia. Where the Hump Backs Whales from the Southern Ocean come up to spawn and breed in warmer waters. Tourism has grown up in the place of Barbaric Hunting. Now tour boats leave the old Whaling Ports to take Whale Watchers out to see the Hump Backs. Tourism makes Millions in revenue then ever did hunting the Hump Backs
