[Politics] Obama Commits Major Factual Error in Berlin Speech - Army Paratrooper - The Dropzone

I hope his speechwriter isn't appointed Secretary of State.

Jug it would show he at least cares about the troops, he cares about the safety of America, that he at least gives a damn about those putting themselves on the line based upon his party's votes that put them there.

It would show that in at least one respect he is for real.

But he is just a real fake.

What I loved was all the Germano-Turkish population turning out. They had lots of soundbites here in the states with what sounded like middle-eastern women "yuleyuling" at each applause line. As an American, I find that scary. Perhaps irrationally, but scary nonetheless.

And for those looking for a laugh. I heard Limbaugh today talking about his closing speech in the middleast (Jordan?). According to Rush, Obama gave a 40min speech. Rush pulled "7 minutes of Uhs, Ahms, and Errs" in a continuous recording with no duplication. I just love that fact that the liberals have villified Bush for his lack of speaking ability over the last 8 years and now the "chickens have come home to roost".

Subject: From a soldier who is serving in Afghanistan

Hello everyone, As you know I am not a very political person. I just

wanted to pass along that Senator Obama came to Bagram Afghanistan

for about an hour on his visit to "The War Zone". I wanted to share with

you what happened.

He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got to

the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the

commander here at Bagram.

As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand he blew them off

and didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet

the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell

(pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or

work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing

basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank

them for their service.

So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back

home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going

to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that

are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the

Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to

be the President of the United States. I just don't understand how anyone

would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was

scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great country.

If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to know what kind

of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the news is all fake.

In service,

CPT Jeffrey S. Porter

Battle Captain

TF Wasatch

American Soldier

njaco, is funny read herr adler angry because obama didnt spoke for americans in germany. i cant figure herr adler interested about anything obama would speak. i also believe herr adler could have 2.000.000 other things more interesting to do - including criticize obama - instead gives 15 minutes of his precious time to listen obama.

but of course the americans in germany are a big comunity and could have many democrats voters REALLY disappointed with obama atitude.

my point of view, as a foreign observer, is that obama is wasting his time going outside borders instead make campaign inside usa. maybe hes triyng to make an image like more friendly with nato parthners and other free nations.

can obama visit brazil too ? i would like to meet him, appears to be a nice guy. we have more americans here than germany, so if the strategy is disappoint possible americans voters living outside, he will be more successful here.

Kinda says it all.

Jug, the point is in order to have an informed opinion you must "sleep with the enemy". I, too, would have gone to hear him speak, just so I can see for myself what he is about and not rely on the media. I'm with Adler on this.

Besides what does it hurt to hear him? Maybe indigestion but you know you'll feel better when you leave.

Might make a good campaign TV commercial don't you think?

A line of soldiers with their hands out ready to shake hands and Obama blowing them off to play B-ball?

Glen Beck is funny, but that is not the reason he is on TV. I don't normally watch news networks, but I happened to see this clip.

Do not question my motives.

Of course I would go and listen to him speak. He is a presidential candidate for my country.

Unlike you and most other liberals, I am open to both sides of the story. Yeah I do not like him, but I would still listen to what he has to say with an open mind.

Its called democracy...

No you do not.

As of last census:

Brazil has 40640 Americans living in Brazil.

Germany has 210,880 Americans living in Germany (including aprox 60,000 military and their families).

If the band playing before him was Metallica!

Is it true that they had 2 bands on before him, and supposedly were giving out free beer?

Adler what do most normal Germans think of Obama? Is he really a "rock star" over there?

No seriously I would go and see him, because I would be interested in hearing what he has to say. I don't think it would change my opinion of him though, but I would let him speak.

I think this whole thing has hurt him anyhow. The military is going to see him in a different light now.

There were two bands, but I do not think the beer was free. The Germans are capatilistic eneogh not to do that...

I think it varies. A vast majority love him but for the wrong reasons. They love him because:

A. He is the opposite of Bush.

B. They sort of see him in the same light as Kennedy back in the 60s when he built up ties with Germany.

There is a decent size percentage that see though his bullshit though. A German forum that I frequent is about 50-50 and the 50% that dont like Obama give the same reasons that most Americans give. He has no experience, is fake and his policies are unrealistic.
