I've not only seen the show, but I was also inandkinda around that area... Almost like a vacation, except with automatic weapons fire...

And there was a movie made about Sierra Leone and the diamond wars... Its called Blood Diamond and Leo DiCaprio stars in it, made in 2006....

yes, I´ve seen that movie last year...went home with tears in my eyes...

What is even more chilliing is the part DeBeers plays in this ordeal . How they the control the output and punish those who disobey .

I know Pb but that is business for Debeers. However another part of the documentary explains how AlQaeda finances itself as well mate

Was it business for Debeers to sell the Germans diamonds the Germans at the beginning of WW2 had a 8 month supply of diamonds necessary for precison machine work where did they the rest?Debeers . The US was forced to "lease" diamonds from Debeers in WW2 . Debeers was afraid that if they released the diamonds necessary for US war production the worth of diamonds would devalue.. You should check out how Debeers managed to sway the Aussies ref the Ashton project. It was if you market these diamonds without Deneers we will cut the price of the diamonds Ashton produces to make economically unviable
