Wouldn't it be nice if we all could focus upon our latest enemy, Islamist fascists wanting to take us back into the 3rd century. Let's all keep our eye on the ball.

Yes many do, but not all of them are from Mexico.

I should have said, "subject of Her Majesty" - which I am afraid to say, you are! I quite understand your point, though. They also wasted a fairly similar number of our own, too, don't forget.

What the alternative would have been also bears thinking about. I suggest it would have been far worse, and that those Canadians who fought for the Allied cause most probably believed in it. Correctly.

Good one. Good chuckle.

Finally rangel is finally catching flak for his remarks about those in the military having no other option in life. American legion is pressing him for a public apology. Why is it that some politicians seem to think their past service gives them a ticket to bash the military. Military loathes these guys, just as the Marines have shunned murtha.

Rangel is an idiot, playing politics, and is determined to undermine our military. As for me, I want the best paid, most highly motivated, and best equipped military in the world to protect me, my family, my beliefs. This can only be provided by a volunteer military. I do not want unhappy, complaining people, i.e. draftees, handling highly dangerous and expensive equipment trying to defend me. Except in an emergency, of course. If you want discipline for kids, find or make another program to do the job.

As for non-American military, I think they have done a great job and deserve a break to citizenship, unlike those who enter illegally.

Here here. What greater sacrifice would we ask of a potential new citizen. Quote major historical facts and read the Pledge?

Agree. These guys come over, sign up and do their time. If it doesn't get them in, at least it should be strongly considered in the process.

Know too many dirtbags that were born here, have done nothing but complain and always have their hands out to hold it against a guy who comes here chasing the dream. Especially when he's willing to fight for that which others distain.

I agree. There are too many homegrown lazy bums who don't want to work for money. I would trade loads of them for those who come and wait beside the road for a day labor job, clean the cars, mow the lawn, and so on. I do not like the uncontrolled border situation and I want it stopped, but most who come just want to work and earn a decent living.

Had a serious dust up one night with five RN "gentlmen" in Singapore. Seemed they didn't like the fact that I was drinking with a Maori and a Tongan.

If they had been arsed to find out, they would have been told that I was an MP Dog Handler and these two guys were mates from a certain Squadron.

Silly buggers. Beaten and BUSTED.

You can pick your friends, but Brothers now each other instantly.

Know what you mean mate. At least your mob wasnt told that your countries defence was of secondary importance and your troops held back....

I completley agree with you timshatz. I cant stand an illegal who comes here with an attitude, but one who would be willing to serve their new country is a different issue. Maybe we could start somthing along those lines here...
