Russia is expanding its economy within the last few years based solely upon the huge oil reserves that Russia is entering into the world market. This is directly related to Yukos being jailed and the threats of denying energy resources to Belarus. Russia has a weakness that their pipelines run through post-Soviet countries, but those same countries also depend on the same pipeline. Russia's proceeds of feeding western europe are filling her coffers with drastically needed disposable cash. And this is the fuel that feeds the Putin regime. A biproduct of this influx of money is a projected 16-20% increase in military spending. And look at the muscles being flexed in the Russian private sector. The press is being stifled and in some cases even eliminated. The people are being monetarily incentivised to make more children. And the aerospace industry is being revitalized with purchases of new western aircraft and coordinated upgrades to Russian indigenous aircraft with western technology.

Russia is flexing its wings once again and its source of wealth is directly oil related. I'm keeping my on them. For they seem to be willing to sell their souls for instant wealth and the Chinese are always willing to buy.
Yes I know all about this. We are feeling the heat from it hear. The pipelines run from Russia to Germany. We get a feel for it over here in western europe.

And yes Adler those pipelines and the oil within are paid for with blood. From the drilling head to the refinery to the pipelines etc. In my opinion just a matter of time before some one wants retribution

Did anyone hear about alexander litvinenko? (i think that's how you spell it...sry) Russian journalist, spoke out against government, killed in a London sushi bar by radiation poisoning. There is a great depression in Russia itself, with a big problem of unemployment. It's just a matter of time before the people call for another stalinist regime. And part of me can't blame them. They just can't seem to do democracy.

What makes you think things were awesome back then? There will always be those unhappy w/ the economy. Even in the US, where economic performance has been strong the past several years, there are still naysayers (although there a few things about the economy that greatly trouble me). I knew many guys back in NJ whose families had fled the Soviet Union.

There is something odd about the Russians. Over the centuries, they always seem to gravitate towards totalitarian regimes. And, oddly, the greatest killer/leaders in Russia seem to do the most in bringing it forward (Catherine the Great being the exception, but she was German anyway).

Ivan the Terrible kills tens to hundreds of thousands but expands Russia's borders. Peter the Great loses hundreds of thousands in wars and building projects but builds St Petersburg and expands the borders too. Stalin murders millions but takes a relatively backward country and converts it from agrarian to industry based.

Each of them were murderers (not a fan of any of them) but it seems that's the way progress gets done in Russia.

Wierd.

Why do you think they invented Vodka? When reality is that ****.

Alcholism is a HUGE problem in Russia. Of late it has taken a turn for the worse with huge numbers of Russians dying due to poisonous black market Vodka.

No... That is because of the Russian Mafia... When an Union is giving them troubles, they just make sure the Union's president is "at the wrong place, at the wrong moment".

- Oops... Sorrrrry mate. We neverrrr saw you.

muslim birthrates will turn all of northern europe into a new caliphate called eurabia within 40 years or so .i think even the french are starting to wake up and smell the coffee .i would hope that europe would remain european and not turn into another middle eastern dung hole .europeans dont have a good reason to fight each other , at least not until they each clean their own houses ..germany must hold off on their usual invasion of france until they clean their own ottoman rug , if you get my meaning ...england ,please no mons or eeypers till you rid yourselves of creepers and send them all packing home to stan ...

Caliphate...that was the Muslim 'pope' ; that hasn't existed since the Mongols trampled the last one.

Good old days!? The Mongols would have wiped civilisation from Europe if their tradition didn't send them back to Mongolia when the Khan died.
