I lived around many Cubans who were there during the revolution. At first he seemed like the savior to all Cubans, but once his communist agenda was clear many suffered.

The stories these folks tell of not only living there, but what they had to do to get out, it's amazing...

I hope Castro suffers a painful and agonizing death.

Wow the very idea of Castro getting Castrated is getting me a giddy. And If the ******* does die I think him suddenly dissappearing wouldn't be such a bad idea. Would anyone really miss him???

Well I just want to be able to legally go and visit Cuba. Great place to visit and great beaches. The people are great. Just dont like the government. If Castro falls, I see a coup happening like Les said and the commies falling.

But remember that going there, you support the regime. It's same like going to Iran or NKorea. The people suffer, and the officials will show only what they want to show you.

Please excuse me if I have been insulting ww2acft.net members here lately, but I can't just stand people like these. Kiwimac, I know some of your attitude, but this is really the final point... You wrote that sitting on your fat @ss in front of your fancy PC, from one of the richiest places in the World. I regret that I have to inform you, that you don't know sh1t about the real life.

If it was joke what you posted, than I'm sorry. but I'm afraid it wasn't.

Pisis, if I want to travel to Cuba I'll do so, and supporting a regime is the last thing on my mind. But I'll tell you something, before you tell folks like kiwimac or pbfoot or myself that they don't know sh*t about real life, why don't you calm yourself, put down the vodka bottle for a while, and give yourself a chance to live and see a bit of the world outside of Europe before you become so judgemental. We've been around just a bit longer than you have (especially those two old farts ), and have actually seen a bit of the world. We're fully entitled to our opinions. Opinions largely based on our own experiences. We can judge the facts for ourselves just fine, thank you.

Just give some of the fury a rest for a while, OK?

So where does the money go, when you travel to Cuba? Sure some go to the people but most go into the socialism. The US knows why they forbidden Adler and others to go there, because that would be sponsoring the "revolution". Nothing more, nothing less.

My attitude against some mebers here doesn't have to do anything with age, it has to do with an experience though. And both Kiwimac and PBFoot have spent all their lives in economic well-being, in places that literally stand on the very top of our civilization, I mean in the economic a living-standard way. And in this surroundings, many people get quickly spoiled.

Nothing is black and white...

But my point was that they've been around long enough and have seen enough of the world outside of the comfy well-being to be able to form their own opinions. They don't need a young know-it-all to tell them how to think. I may not always agree with their opinions either, but I try to give them the respect that is their due. That was my point.

So you know them that well? As Les somewhere wrote, this is cyberspace, and I react on what I see they've written. After being a member here for some 2,5 years, the only non-aircraft post by Kiwi I've seen was in the Israel vs. Palestine threads. And they were all short-sighted.

Pbfoot was the same, and on the top of it, he is insulting me and my family mambers that died in WW2. I guess that's short-sighted, too.

So obviously, neither of them shaped their opinions well.

But then, everyone of us has a point, right?

You're not getting me here, are you? I don't know them at all. I don't have to. I react to things too, but I try not to be too preemptive with the sh*t slinging. Not unless someone else has drawn first blood, then it's a little different. We all have our own perfectly valid opinions on these matters, and I've read nothing posted by either pb or kiwi that suggests that they're on crack or anything.

I don't much agree with everything Israel does to the Palestinians either. That's not to say that I support the Palestinians in terror, that's just to say what it means. Israel is not all seeing, all knowing, always correct in their actions. The Jews there have a right to survive yes, but in effect they're becoming what they've always despised. They've become a police presence to Palestinians in Israel, with ID's, checkpoints, the works. It's understandable to a large degree, don't get me wrong, but the parallels with Europe of the early 1940's are ironic. There are also innocent Lebanese caught-up in the latest developments. Lebanon is full of Christians, Druids, and even some Jews, who have absolutely nothing against Israel. Even the Sunni Muslims there are sick of fighting. Many of them have already lost everything in the Israeli hunt for Hezbella. Should we feel any less for them?

Murder the terrorists I say, and innocents get caught-up in conflict all the time, but let's put it in the proper perspective here. There are innocents here. Not every Arab in Lebanon has his guns out for Israel. Everybody just understand that. The Egyptians don't have much of a stomach for this sh*t anymore either, although they have terrorist cells of their own to worry about.

Castro? Who the hell cares, the man's days are numbered. Cuba itself isn't the only sh*thole in the Caribbean either.

That's my opinion, as invalid or short-sighted as you may see it. Too bad, eh?

I agree with that. That is basically what I am saying. I never said that all Arabs in general are bad or terrorists or something, I'm not a racist. But I'm offended by their behavior, because with their statements, they're denying Israel's right to defend. Thus Israel's right for existence.

On the other hand, pbfoot is qouting some paranoic bullshit from Noam Chomsky and Kiwi almost sends "Get Well Soon" card to Fidel...

And if you don't know them at all, why did you post

? They probably weren't or they haven't been paying atention enough (that's what I call short-sighted) otherwise they won't post such stupid and unmatured crap...

Just using a bit of common reasoning there buddy. Both men are well over forty, kiwi has spent time in the New Zealand Army, and pb was in the Canadian Air Force. They've seen a bit. Enough to form their own opinions anyway. Their "immature crap" holds as much water with me as yours.

Although not a fan of Fidel Castro, I believe he was much better of the one he kicked out.

Anyone would prefer Fulgencio Batista his corruption and his over 20.000 murders (that he never paid for) maybe?

Remember what was Cuba before Castro, 47% of the land and all the mineral resources were exploited by US companies (in exchange of money to Mr Fulgencio) not to speak about sugarcane and tobacco. The cities were brothels for American buyers, and the Cubans (except of course Batista and his entourage) were in effect slaves like the Black people in the cotton fields or the peasants in the european middle age.

Or should we remember the collusion of FG with the American and Italian mafia?

In 1957, according to a Catholic Church study, 30% of Cubans had not a bed, 23% were completely analphabet and 14% had TBC

Now, Castro is surely not a saint and was on 'the other side too', but if we want to give a fair historocal judgement we must consider where he had to start from, and what was the political environment he had to live with.

Who would had not tried to find protection in USSR, having as neighbor the biggest mondial power who was struggling to restore the previous dictatorship by financing golpe and by direct military actions?
