VALPARAISO, Ind. - Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton managed to co-opt Mr. Obama’s message of hope and optimism, beginning a speech in Valparaiso, Ind., by talking about how positive and “fundamentally optimistic” Americans are.
“We don’t get bogged down and looking back – we’re always looking forward,” she said, as heavy applause nearly drowned out her words. “Whatever obstacle we see, we get over it. Whatever challenge we have, we meet it. We’re the problem-solvers, we’re the innovators, we’re the people who make the better future.”
For the third time since Mr. Obama’s remarks were made public Friday night, Mrs. Clinton criticized him at length, saying his comments seemed “kind of elitist and out of touch.”
“I disagree with Senator Obama’s assertion that people in our country cling to guns and have certain attitudes about immigration or trade simply out of frustration,” she said.
She described herself as a pro-gun churchgoer, recalling that her father taught her how to shoot a gun when she was a young girl and said that her faith “is the faith of my parents and my grandparents.”

I just heard that Gore and Carter have spoken to hillary privartely to ask her to drop out 'for good of party'.. They flip side apparently is that both will come out favoring Obama publically if she doesn't 'cave'. | |

Country: | To tell the truth, I dislike Obama more than Hilary with his snide remarks about America. While I don't like Hilary either, for Obama to come down on her for simplying drinking some alcohol seems pretty prissy and snobbish.

Country: | While Hilary Clinton may cause bad corruption in our goverment, Obama will cause change. And the change is what worries me. What change? What will he want us to change into? UN lapdogs? Lack of Military? Communists? Obama the lifelong president?
Hilary woud continue the downward spiral, but I think Obama would take us there faster.

Hilary woud continue the downward spiral, but I think Obama would take us there faster. | There is only one place for either to attempt to do what they say - cut the US Military way back - similar to Clinton.. and you have to sell more than 'get out of iraq' you have to sell 'can't we all be friends'?
So, look for 'no more terrorist threats', no problem for open borders, Iran will not start anything with Israel, NK is just misunderstood and the current guv in Pakistan will be able to keep the nutcases from access to nuclear weapons - and evrything will settle down once we leave Afghanistan and Iraq.
Even with Dem majority, quite a few that replaced Repubs in 06 are fiscal and military conservatives so more taxes will be tough to raise - and soc security will go deeper in ditch and a flagging economy will make revenue targets tough for Fed Gov't.

| Just like the democrats did in 1972 and 1984, they will implode in the election.
McCain vs Obama would be a blow out of historical proportions.
McCain vs Hillary would be a small margin of victory for McCain.
