Well at least one of the major Sheite clerics in Iraq had the guts to come out and say that the depiction is at least partialy justified.

We cannot own guns. I am ed by this, but the U.K has gone too far. Many people will just roll over and accept it. One of the great, and awful, things with British culture is the inward focus of our people. We are a reserved nation, and many people keep to themselves which is great. But when things like this happen it turns into "Well, it doesn't affect me so I don't care." When they bombed London it was good because everyone was shocked ... then didn't care.

But the British people should fight this ... however, they won't. The new bill against racism was probably turned down because it would solidly stop Muslims being racist against Whites and Christians, because those terms were actually written into the bill. See, we can't be racist against Muslims ... but they can be racist against us.

Leftist faggots ... cause all the worlds problem. If I were in charge the sands of the Mid-East would be soaked red in their blood ... for every Briton, American and European killed by a Muslim a thousand of theirs would die. And they'd all be out of this country!

Hopefully we're just flexing at the moment ... and they'll push us too far then we'll snap 'n' wipe 'em out.

Can yah tell they piss me off more 'n' more everyday?

You'd think so. But if British citizens could own guns, so could the Muslims.

Not to add fuel to the fire, but..

Talked to my friend about this, and he brought one thing to my attention:

What if people did these cartoons to the Christian religion? I'm sure there would be mass controversy all over the world. Or what if people started stomping on the US flag in public in the states in a disrespectful way?

Point is, there is freedom of speech, but to do hateful speech which brings about mass violence is something people go to jail over.

For example, look at the Muslim cleric in Britain who said terrible things publicly which incited and encouraged terrorism. He was put away by the Brits.

I think this deal with Muslims is similar, to say hateful things which incite violence. At the same time, we must realize that not all Muslims are bad! I've met some from Iran who are actually quite nice, and who were open minded towards Christian views.

Theres been plenty of "hatefull" speech against the Christian religion. Remember that one of Jesus on a crucifix in a glass of urine?

I didnt see any christians rioting over that.

The Constitution might give us free speech, but it doesnt guarentee the speech has to be inoffensive or smart,

And if those F****ing muslims dont like it, then they shouldnt look at the cartoons.

I agree, syscom. And it's true, in Britain we insult the Christian religion all the time because it's the only one we're allowed to these days. We can mock Jesus to the end of time and not be arrested, but if we say a bad word about Allah ... then we're put away.

If the Muslims don't like it ... they can **** off. You don't have to put up with their **** day in and day out, Havard. You don't sit there watching your own culture being picked to pieces by Islam. They've protested against underwear billboards for **** sake ... 'cos it insults them with sexy chicks in just a thong 'n' bra ... don't like it, **** off! We like it. British people like to crash their cars because they're too busy starin' at a nice ass... or a good pair of tits. Just because Saudi ****in' Arabia doesn't like it ... it doesn't mean we should change.

PlanD & syscom:

I see your points too. Yes that is troublesome. It's kind of like having a Christian Police Chief going around town enforcing Christian values. Ie not lying, not looking at women, etc.

So the problem is the Muslim religion itself. It enforces it's ways on the society around it. That's a real problem.
