Chris, this is a reaction of someone who came to lack of arguments.
You simply believe something that is not proven by facts. On the other hand, I provided various facts.

I don't want to argue with you about the deportation itself, we can agree on that, naturally. However, you base on something that is simply a myth.

Yes, there were Germans in the Czechlands, naturally, but driven off many times in the history. The most significant influx of Germans who came to the country was after the Battle of Bílá Hora (Check: Battle of White Mountain - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia )in 1620, because most of the Protestantic intelligence lost their property and had to emmigrate from the country. Thus the Germans were invited by the emperoro and they got the former Czech property for free. This is where actually the Sudetenland population origanted from, as well as from natural travelling of people around the Czech-German border.

However, the Sudetenland was always historically a Czech area.

Oh, and one interesting thing off the discussion: Did you know that most of the driven-off Germans after '45 settled down in Bavaraia?

No your facts are obvious something that is tought in the Czech, mine are what is tought in Germany. Two different things. We are simply going to have to agree to disagree because this not going to go anywhere.

A myth to you, but not to the millions of Germans.

Historically yes, but just no.

Yes and throughout most of Southern Germany. Mostly in Bayern and Baden-Wurtenberg.

Come on, Chris, this ain't a "Argument forum" but rather a "Discussion" one.

I understand the attitude you saty in, it is natural.

I didn't mean the deportation or colonization. I meant that the Germans came later then the Slavs, but during the times, they advanced more and more far to the East. I think we can agree on that, don't we?

I didn't study that in school, because WW2 isn't still very well taught in the Czech schools... Which is a shame. I studied that in various books and conferences. As an example, I have been to a conference that was held by Das Deutsch-Tschechische Gesprächsforum. Do you think they had it wrong, or, even lied to us? I don't think so...

I understand that very much. Every individual has a relationship to his/her environment (birthplace), so for the people it was and still must be hard, as same for me to learn about other horrible events that our ancestors went through...

Maybe when you and I have some time, we can go and meet at the Czech-German border and go visit some remarkable places.
