Country: | Where I live (city of 80,000) I think that I read the mayor made about $40k or so. But then again, it's probably considered part time:

Country: | Better yet, compare the salaries of CEOs in Japan and those here. Disgusting!
We support these dunderheads and contribute to their wealth. And the Party affiliation don't matter. Scooter lied/ Clinton lied. Bush on Social Security promise = 0..... Clinton on National Healthcare promise = 0.
From the smallest hamlets to the White House they all take.
And the amazing thing is people will complain about congress and the prez but continue to vote in their OWN rep! Thats where it starts. |

| USD $400,000 a month.
Get elected, be reelected and that automatically turns you into a real juicy millionaire...USD $38,400,000.
How many generations in a family can live with that?
It´s just incredible how the people of the planet let this bloody insanity keep going.
Call it youth or whatever, but since i dislike politics and politicians, i do not follow up that much... i was of course aware they are thieves. So after all i was very naive, believing the people in Germany, Sweden, Finland, Iceland or Switzerland could force the bastards to inform they are clean while in office.
The politicians in places like Africa, Latin America and Asia of course steal in the "old-fashion" style: straight, direct, precise. Those guys and their relatives simply GRAB. You know, they get off work everyday carrying sacks of dollars.
Crooks in the "First-Wolrd" resort to more sophisticated and intricate methods to steal (and USD $400,000 salary month type of thing).

| Yeah Matt, you can laugh all you want.
By the way, you did not answer the question i asked you in the "Food" thread; i recall you mentioned lots of mexican dishes that you like very much. I asked if you lived in Mexico but got no reply.
I for one thought you were ignoring me because of the animal i appointed to represent you as a member of the forum (See the "If we were animals other than human" thread).
You did not like it or what?

Country: | Aw I missed the animal thread. I'll have to take a look. You'd have to go all out to really piss me off Udet. I've been bent, but never really POd. I have never lived south of the Border, but do love Mexican food. Homemade tamales, refried beans (not canned!), Poblano chiles blackened on the grill and stuffed with cotija, chicken enchiladas in tomatillo sauce, cheese and onion enchiladas in homemade chile sauce, avocado with sea salt and lime, chile rellenos stuffed with pork/raisans/cilantro... make me stop.

| Matt:
Your knowledge on mexican food surprises me; you even mention some dishes i did know of and i lived in Mexico for ~3 years...was almost 17 when got there, left when i was 20, several months ago.
The places in Mexico where most USAers live are Mexico City and Guanajuato, in central Mexico, and also in the north, especially in Baja California, but they can be found everywhere in that country though (The country where most USAers live outside the USA is Mexico, by far)
USAers are settling in Baja California by the several thousands. Huge land parcels are property of people from the USA in the area; smart guys, Baja California -and the Gulf of California- is possibly one of the most beautiful places i have ever visited in my life. On the beaches the sand is bright white, swim or snorkel in crystal clear water; while in the water you can look up and you see the Baja mountain ranges which should resemble the Arizona Grand Canyon.
I was always attracted to the Baja California geography, even if a peninsula, from a viewpoint is like a very very large island.
Simple, in Los Cabos the owners of virtually all restaurants, bars and stripper clubs are guys from the USA.
Also i recall another port i visited, Mazatlan, where the marina is "owned" by USAers and Canadians. Also the canadians who live in the town have their own bar "Canuck´s", very nice beach ambience. We had some drinks in the place.
Oh well. Good food, good drinks.

Country: | Udet there are so many Mexicans that now live in the US that Mexican food is almost the national food of America. There are so many traditional Mexican restaurants in the US now (and I am talking Mexican owned not this Taco Bell crap!) that you can not go anywhere and not find real Mexican food.
I had a buddy of mine that I served in Iraq with who was Mexican. He used to cook us traditional meals all the time in Germany before he returned to the US.

| Adler: Agreed. Never been to a Taco Bell place but i´ve been told similar things about it.
I know California, Texas, and Arizona and you are right about the number of mexicans or people of mexican origin living there -same in NYC-; when i once visited San Antonio, Texas, i grabbed the city´s directory and i was surprised: you could believe you were in any city of latin america from reading the majority of the names listed.
Really Adler, if someday you plan a long vacation go to Baja. Everyone i´ve met who has been there fell in love with the place.
A funny incident i recall during my stay in Mexico: those nationalistic wimps you find in every country, a mexican guy in this case, was very pissed off upon his return from Baja because he had discovered the peninsula is virtually owned by people from the USA: "We will lose Baja to americans!!", and i said to him: "Relax, many mexicans claim they are re-taking California, Arizona, Texas and New Mexico...things then are getting evened out with noble USAers buying Baja".

Country: | Interesting to know that all those retirees in Baja are living on leased land. They have no rights if the Mex gov't puts a lock on their community.
And Adler's right about the Mexican restaurants in the States. But you cannot get me to touch Menudo. Mm, mm. No way. No how.

Country: | Baja would be nice to visit Udet but I could not live there. I have to have Mountains and snow in the winter and lots of green and stuff.
