And you're spot on concerning Belgium. A loud minority of Flemish people want to seperate Flanders. The only thing what's holding us together is Brussels which is bilingual and cannot be divided.
Farley, the economic disruption doesn't have to take place. If Quebec seperates, it can still have open borders with Canada. In Belgium all three states are in partial control over their own economy which has allowed them to direct it towards their own specific needs and economical progress.
