Astronomy is not my strong suite as you can see. Seriously, do stars flare out or do some just die? I will look up Nova and Super Nova on Wiki just to punish myself for being lazy. | Here is a link from that liberal station PBS that has an excellent catalogue of stellar objects from their show on gamma ray bursts NOVA Online | Death Star | Catalogue of the Cosmos

How does one keep track of a thread that gets to large. As for Michael Moore I see him as just another wacko who creates his own price and market. Deals on fear factor and half truths without delving into areas completely. That is my opinion of Michael Moore and it isn't high I can assure you |

Country: | Pretty much sums up my thoughts.
I just read that Canada is not going to be compliant with the Kyoto protocols requiring a 10% reduction in emissions by 2008. Looks like they can only justify 1.5%. So they are now saying that they are shooting for something like 7% by 2020.
China is making similar claims that they cannot reduce emissions to Kyoto or other required levels. With China's economy growing in double digits, I highly suspect that until health care is impacted directly by lack of pollution controls, they too are not eager to adopt any limits.

Country: | I'm real worried about the Chinese. I once read that they build a new oil power plant every week or somthing like that. No biscuit-powered car is gonna cover those emissions.

Right up till the fall of the wall, the most popular car in East Germany was a very smokey 2 cycle 2 or 3 cylinder, a very inefficient 2 cycle. I wonder how many of them ran in all the other Warsaw Pact countries over the years. |

Country: | Ah yes - that will be the Trabant. A car so awful the Stazi would have considered half hour in it to be a bit cruel. A friend of mine acquired one, it had a lever marked A Z and H inside, and you could flex the boot lid from side to side when it opened. I've also driven a Lada Niva, without doubt the scariest thing I've ever driven. And people wonder why Communism didn't work................ |

Country: | I have allways wanted to buy a Trabi for the nostalgic value of it. You can get them dirt cheap over here.

A buddy of mine has an unregistered Niva and we pull tractor tires during wintertime to clear the road to his summerhouse. I don' know if there is more fun or more pure fear involved
Only worse car that I have driven is the UAZ. Ruskies gave lots of them to the Finnish Defence Forces as a payment of their debts. The only positive thing about it is that it runs practically on any liquid that burns...

| Hey Folks:
I watched the video, and it certainly is true. A professor in college once told me:
"Science is not a democracy".
Somebody is wrong either Gore and his video or the or the video that refutes it.
The thing that gets me are all the pressure groups trying to force this crap down everybody's throat without a resonable debate. it's almost like the "Global Warming crowd" is trying to exert control over everybody before a true undisputable consensus is made.

Country: | Just a question Harvard. Do you have an interest in WW2 aircraft or do you jsut come online to post in the political threads? Does not matter to me either way, just wondering....

| Hi DerAdler:
Yes, but I only look at pictures and videos of planes. I don't talk about them much. Thanks for asking!
I talk about politics, because it's the thing that frustrates me the most. It's a good outlet. Do you have a similar philosophy?
Thanks,
Chris
