Country: | pb you are probably pointing your comments to another but I have seen Gores work of .......... well I will not say it. the bees are dying out due to 5 years of predatory mites. I have followed this since day one in my area of Oregon as it involves one my business's, on a secondary note you do not need honey bees to pollinate as flys, and even stinging insects will do the same |

Country: | Matt about the time it was happening down here I was up in the Washington Wenatchee valley inspecting Pear trees that were in bloom. Everything was gorgeous white, the pear growers were talking of the small counts of honey bees, although I said look what was buzzing around the blooms going from one to another - yellow jackets, black wood bees, wasps of all sorts, flys and fake flys, fake bees, all pollinating the blossoms............. the drive over and stay over in leavenworth wasn't half bad either at the Abenblume |

Country: | First, Pb, I am a Govt worker and I try very hard every day not to be one of those that you mention. But I understand your gripe.
Second Gore's docu is not the Holy Grail of GW. I've read, watched and listened to other aspects of this issue and thats where my opinion comes from. Along with the common sense of the whole thing.
And third, the balance of nature in whole is being affected by humans in general. Its an old issue from the 60s and 70s. In my work I see it every day. Its people affecting the situation just like dinos affected their environment and as anything with our level of consiouness will. Blaming humans for GW misses the whole point but does serve to justify to politicians that they are smarter than us and have the answers. Sheesh, life goes on and things change. Like I said before and along with what Erich stated, its called entropy, plain and simple.
And most people may not be intelligent (I'm certainly not) but most do have some form of common sense.

Hey I came up with the answer to GW. Now think about this.
Everybody in the world gets spayed or neutered! No population growth, less energy usage, more open space for life-giving trees and plants, oh the list goes on!!

Country: | The little philosophical bastard that I am thought about something...
Every ecologists knows that methane is way more toxic/bad for environment than COČ.
And everyone knows that farts are mainly composed of methane. Knowing that, what's next in the ecologists' agenda ? Ask for peoples to stick a stopper up their asses ?
That was my philosophical thought of the day...

That was my philosophical thought of the day... | Don't laugh Maestro. Ben and Jerry's Icecream is spending millions of dollars researching how to minimize methane from their dairy cows. It's all money in the bank.

Country: | Saw the head of NASA today say on TV that he did not think that man's activities were causing so-called GW. Also said, and I paraphase, that for one man or group of men to say that a certain type of climate was the ideal and we should attempt to maintain that type was rather arrogant. I never thought about it in that way but it fits with my comment some weeks ago that if we were living in the Dark Ages and knew the climate was warming, we would be celebrating. |

"James Hansen, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration's top official on climate change, expressed shock at Griffin's comments in a later interview with NPR.
Asked his response, Hansen said: "I almost fell off my chair."
"It was a shocking statement because of the level of ignorance it indicated with regard to the current situation," Hansen told NPR.
Also note Pres Bush's about face on the situation if it gets mentioned in the "news" down south Opinion: The Emperor's Green Clothes - International - SPIEGEL ONLINE - News

Country: | Well I guess we have a difference of opinion on the definition of common sense and I read Micheal Griffins CV and if I want a designer of space vehicles he'll be the man I'll call but he's no climatologist

Country: | I think one of the significant things about this story is that nowhere could I find the story on AOL or MSN. If Griffin had said that the sky is falling and GW is serious and it is man's fault, do you think it would have been on the afore mentioned. Trust me, it would. When I talk about common sense I am referring to the remark he made about who gets to choose which climate model we have. I would not trust Gore with any decision. |
