Country: | I am not sure if there are more aethiests in Europe or not. Most Europeans I know are Catholic or Protestant and believe, they just dont go to Church on a regular basis.
Actually most that I personally know are Catholic because I live in a Catholic region.

Country: | In Britain, I don't know the true statistics, but most people either don't believe in any God or do care but don't believe in the religions (if you know what I mean?) ... that's probably why religious arguments are a bit confusing in Britain.
But don't start any religious debates here, people ... there's too many friendships to be ruined by mindless torture of one anothers beliefs.

Country: | On that I agree. I thought the abortion discussion would spin into orbit.

Country: | Wait a minute. If her arguement is to have an abortion to save the planet, isn't she going half way in her attempts. If she was really hard core, she'd off herself as well. She kills, terminates, ends...whatever, the pregnancy but she, herself is still alive and kicking. She puts out way more CO2/litter/carbon footpint than a baby.
Further into the arguement:
1. She could still get pregnant again. And this time, maybe she won't decide to terminate. So, by staying alive, isn't she putting her own interests ahead of the planet (using her logic here, not mine).
2. Does the planet really care what this woman does? Does the planet care what any of us does?
Seems the whole arguement is pretty much crap. You guys hit the nail on the head when you said she is bringing one less idiot into the world. Feel sorry for the kid. He/She never got a shot. But that lies on what little conscience this woman has rattling around between her ears. |

I personally don't really care if you pray to a brass coated soda can

Country: | That "eco-abortion" story was so good that I had to put it on my website... I'm quite proud of my final punch... Politics - Trash-talk, vulgarities and the truth

Originally Posted by mkloby I personally don't really care if you pray to a brass coated soda can | I totally agree. As a youngster I went to a Catholic school. Our sisters
beat into us that we had to attend 9 o'clock mass..... at no other time
could we pray, it had to be a 9 o'clock mass. I really feel I can pray
anytime... anywhere I choose. Be it on the john or under a tree at 0900
or at oh-dark-thirty. Personally, I like to do my "talking" in the shower,
while, I know, others are making like Povarotti.
