Country: | I personally know of three people murdered in Dallas where a gun could have saved a life. One was a homebuilder who was shot in his backyard. One was the wife of a friend of mine who was beaten to death with a club in her own home. The last was a women raped and knifed to death in her home. I built the home for she and her husband. I woke up one night in college and an intruder was in my dorm room rifling through my roomate's belongings. I chased him and he shouted he had a gun. This intruder had been previously reported with a gun. I did not catch him. Those are good reasons for me to have at least three weapons locked and loaded around my house. To quote Woodrow Call, "Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it." |

| I don't know about "professionals" after viewing those videos, That was a totally poor approach by the 1st cop and the other videos look like Beirut. I'm assuming those were taken in or near the slum ares where drug lords and dealers prevail. After watching that I'm going out and buying another gun cause I wouldn't trust those guys to protect me. No offense JUGBR, you have beautiful women, great soccer, mardi gras, and great racing talent (ex.Senna) but you don't see that too often here in the states.

Country: | the first video was the best, the policemen killed both guys. of course that policemen wasnt too smart but he killed the both guys at end.
other scenes are from war against drug dealers in rj. the dealers are armed with fals, ak-47, mortars, not easy task, also they use population of this zones as human shields.
i dont know nothing about been trained or not, but for those situations the bope is the best solution, i cant figure nothing better and i hope they kill more of those drug dealers bastards.
i raised fences in my yard, fences in windows, i have pitbull on yard, if i see the situation is bad, i call the police, they never failed with me, always arrested the thief when i had problems. also they kicked the face of bastard in my front once, was funny. like a soccer ball.
i dont walk in street with expensive clocks, or laptops, expensive snickers, etc... i follow the recomendations, never had problems in street when driving, after 21:00 dont stop in red signals, always 60mph or faster if possible. i make my security myself in a preventive way to avoid have a bad surprise. dont need guns for that, need to be smart and look around ever.

Well, for me because i´m untrained.
Do twenty push-ups before and it becomes ridiculous (for me)
I will stick with hands and feet as weapons because i can take them into every bar / pub / plane.
Taking into account that people like me walk the streets, every gun owner should precautionary shoot everyone in 10 feet radius.
By the way...
Am i right, that most of the gun enthusiasts do not live in a bigger city?
As far as i know most bigger cities in the USA have european like gun-laws.
Is that true? | Pistol shooting requires a lot of rounds to maintain 'expert' qualifications but shotgun at close range with open choke and anything from #2's to 00 buck is easy and simple if you have the will.
Being armed with dogs is the best deterrent.
Depends on locale for large city gun restrictions - Cities in Southern Belt from Arizona to Virginia are much less restrictive (in general) than North and Western large cities.
There are gun 'enthusiasts' everywhere but the politicians controlling the cites are the influencers for restrictions. In general, the left politicians range in thought from serious restrictions to total ban - reflecting much of Europe, Britain and Australia fro example - The UN is attempting a similar approach globally, with their sights on the US. |

Country: | Got a dog and a couple of guns. And, on top of that, I never oil the hinges of the doors on my first floor. Noisiest house in the neighborhood when it comes to getting through the front door. |

| I've got a German Sheppard and she sure looks impressive when somebody knocks. But there was a show here about 2 ex burglars who went straight. Their show was about how easy it was to break into someones home, then show the home owners how not to be an easy target anymore. Well they had absolutley no problem handling dogs, from throwing meat in with or without sleeping pills or tricking the dog to leave the house it didn't stop them one bit. These guys were pros thou. I'm sure for the local punk burglar it's a different matter.

Not everybody has our kind of dogs but nobody shows up 'unannounced'.
I didn't see the show but curious if they defeated the dogs from the outside without dogs barking from inside. |

| If you think you are favouring your country with that kind of post, well...you are not
About the situation in Brazil I made a topic earlier. http://www.ww2aircraft.net/forum/mod...zil-10010.html (Urban combat in Brazil.) Quote: |

Country: | And I remembered your video post CB. Looked like the three stooges with high powered weapons. If you call the professional, my range buddies are qualified Spec Ops.

| I had my Shepp basically level 1 trained, purely defensive. I love it when solicitors come knocking at the front door and she does her thing and when I open it they are 10 ft away. Make her sit right next to me and she just stares at them. Towards my wife, myself and family she's a total baby.

Country: | Don't forget what I told you about them using the syringes filled with blood to rob banks in Australia. Anything can be used as a weapon. Don't believe me? Watch Martial Law! (Kidding. One of the few TV shows I used to watch, but I don't watch any TV now to speak of). On the show, Sammo would pick up any odd object and use it as a weapon. It was a funny, cheezy show. |

Beautiful dog Torch.
