Greetings ladies and gentlemen.
First of all, an happy Victoria Day... Or
Journée Nationale des Patriotes, whatever your side is.
Yes, in Québec, the Victoria Day was replaced by the
Journée Nationale des Patriotes a few years back. A
Parti Québécois' idea to piss off the English Canadians.
The
Journée Nationale des Patriotes was set up to recall the Canadian Rebellion of 1837-1838. However, the PQ and the FLQ twisted the story to help the Independence cause.
Now, every years on this day, old FLQist assholes goes to TV channels and spread the twisted story.

true story, click on both of the following links.

Now the twisted story...
With time, the Upper Canada Rebels were forgotten, now there is only the poor little Frenchy Rebels who are being talked about.
They forgot that the true cause of the Rebellion was the desire to get a responsible gouvernment.
They don't talk about the English Rebels who were fighting side by side with the French Rebels.
They don't talk about the (correct me if I'm wrong) 20
English Rebels who were hang for treachery to the British Crown, but they do talk about the poor little 13 French Rebels who were hang and the many others who were deportated to Australia... They really didn't deserve that. (Yeah, sure !

You can deport me to Australia any day !)
They talk about the great courage (yeah, right

) of Louis-Joseph Papineau who led the Rebellion... But forget to mention the fact that when the fight started, Little Louis-Jo crapped his pants and escaped to the US.
Now, can you say propagenda ?
