Country: | Hooo boy. Here we go. What gives?
With all the sh*t going on in the world today, and with security still undergoing a serious facelift (not to mention the fact that our ability to adequately defend ourselves is very much in question)...we're doing this all of a sudden? http://www.cbc.ca/story/world/nation..._20050926.html |

Country: | Hmm, wonder why the change of heart. I would bet a dollar to a donut that it has to do with money. Whose pockets are going to get lined for this one?

Country: | It's a dangerous path they've chosen then. Canadian politicians are anything but honest, and far from the brightest folks on the planet, but even they aren't usually completely stupid. This one is a bit out there even for us, if you ask me. I can't help but get raised hairs, with a Liberal government in office. They tend to have less than realistic views about things like this.
God, we need a good old fashioned conservative government again! Never perfect of course, but this Liberal garbage has been the worst, let me tell you! |

Country: | I just hope to hell we don't wind up inadvertently contributing to something very bad. The last thing Canada needs is to become part of some kind of axis.
Seriously though, I don't think this has been thought out very well. In my opinion, it's not a very wise thing to do at all. But then who the hell ever cared what I thought? |

Country: | Its like helping Iran out with there program. It really is. What gets me though is these countries like Iran, India, and Pakistan can not even feed there own people and live in extreme poverty but they all want a nuke.

Country: | It also wouldn't put us in very good stead with our allies. As it is, our position has been becoming more tenuous over the years due to our steadily declining military contributions to NATO and NORAD. Emphasis recently has been on increasing security, and that's a very good thing, but we can't keep ignoring the regular military. Like it or not, one day soon (not too soon I hope) we're going to find ourselves involved in a major conflict. Then it'll be WWII all over again, with the mad rush. The thing is though, the nature of warfare today is quite different from how it was in the 1930's and 40's. We're stupid to think we'll get away with this puny, ill equipped military forever. And if we're going to start giving out nuclear material or expertise to anyone, we'd better be able to take adequate safeguards on our own, and be prepared protect our own interests as well as take responsibility for our decisions. That means having the ability to clean up our own messes at home and abroad and having the resolve to do it. JTF 2 isn't always going to be enough. |

Country: | Suddenly it makes a bit more sense then. I kinda figured someone in Ottawa must have had the green light from the US. It's not like us to just start suddenly handing out nuclear material on our own. That was the thought that had me more worried than anything when I first read that news. It's completely out of character for a Liberal government. I still don't get any warm fuzzy feelings from it though. |

Country: | Heres a comspiracy. Does anyone think that the US might have helped India get Nukes as a deterant against China.
