Country: | It was hard for me to understand economics in school (other than baking cakes! ) so I tend to stay away from any discusion about it. But I just can't believe all the doomsayers.
I think that if the CEOs and owners of large businesses would do away with the profit at any cost mantra - which includes outrageous salaries and bonus' - and try quality things might be better. And govert. should keep its filthy hands out of it but that ain't gonna happen.

Hence they didn't pay back and major worries for the bank director as he'll have to sell one of his limo's. He doesn't want that so he'll sell his stocks instead. People think: here's a guy who knows about something and he's selling, so hey, let's be sheep and folow the leader. Stock prices go down, people can't afford their houses anymore 'cause they financed it on the stockmarket jadajada, we'll have a crisis like the last time and in a few years economy will be just fine again. God I hate economics, I'm glad I'm just a scientist.

Country: | Henk remember my rule. If you see it in the media, particularely tv, It is either inaccurate and exaggerated or a damn lie. There is nothing wrong with the US economy! It is just slowing down a little because it has been steadily growing at a strong clip since the end of 2001. We may be headed for a recession ( a few quarters of no or negative growth) but that would be normal and healthy. Our economy is still the strongest and most stable in the world. Interestingly, there are now a few political pundits who believe that Hillarita will not be the dem nominee. rather it will be Obama v McCain. |
