Country: | And that's a fair statement. In fact, that is part of Thompson's problem. He appears lifeless and frumpy. Folks will never vote for that, irrespective of his morals and politics.

Country: | I like Fred Thompson and don't care if he comes across as lifeless and frumpy as long as he puts the fear of God (Allah) in our Ememies and even our Allies once and a while. But I agree that his demeanor will not win him the Presidency. |

Country: | It's unfortunate. I do like Freddie. But I have to say, I have not been too impressed with his campaign.

Country: | I still think all you people are whipping a dead horse. This country is not
ready for (a) a female president or (b) a black president. So who's left ?

Country: | Well Charles, I hope you're right. So I guess you're saying that the Republican nominee (whoever it is) wins easy? Because the Dem nominee will be either the witch or Obama, regardless of last night's result, unfortunately, I think it will be the witch..err bitch...err Satan or whoever, whatever she calls herself.

Country: | TO: I'm beginning to wonder if either Obama or Clinton will get the
nomination ! However, it is too early to tell. I think a Dem will be
elected, but I do not believe it will be either Obama or Clinton.
Guess we'll see...

Country: | You may have a point there Charles. The Dems are so focused upon winning at all costs, they may view either as a liability based solely upon race/gender. That would be so typically hypocritical of them.

Country: | A co-worker and I were just talking about this. To my statement about
the country not being ready for a black/female president, he said,
"It's not that the country isn't ready for a black or woman president so much, I think that the current woman and black candidates aren't ready to be president."

Charles | President Edwards I can't see that Charles.
But I do agree with the statement from your other post...
"I think that the current woman and black candidates aren't ready to be president."
But one of them will be the Dem nominee (IMHO).

Country: | I believe the one variable that you guys are forgetting is which way will the evangelicals vote it isn't the black/hispanic vote. Remember the evangelicals were the force behind your current Pres getting elected >

Country: | Personally I think when it gets down to the wire neither Clinton or Obama are electable. Hillary is greatly disliked despite her numbers within her party and Pb is right - the evangelicals will have a field day with either one of them - and I hate to say it there will be many who will not vote for Obama because of his race. It would be a political Armageddon for the Dems should Clinton and Obama run on the same ticket IMO. The only strategy I see is Edwards getting the nomination and he choosing one of them as his running mate; and should that happen then I think most of the left to center voters might tolerate either Hilliary or Obama.

She's been VP once
and I don't think she liked being second fiddle, then !

Charles | Agree - part of the reason why she is so greatly disliked!

Country: | Dont' put it past her. She is so power hungry, I think that she would accept a second fiddle and use the Clinton machine to get her way. She would keep her fingers crossed that as VP she might be a shoe-in for Pres next election. It has historically been a LONG time since the VP got the presidency. Odds would be on her side.
