Country: | I had not given this any thought until I read it in MSNBC, that the length of time we have now been in Iraq, 44 months, is the same time span from
Pearl Harbor until VJ Day. Put into that perspective, even recognizing that
Iraq is a "different" kind of war, it is a staggering thing to ponder. And sad. |

Country: | ...but almost 2 score years short of the length of the cold war. Which is really more comparable.

Country: | I don't want to sound anti American or anti British, but nothing was acomplished by the attack. If they wanted any help in eliminating Sadam they would have asked for it. This war brought them nothing but civil war which could last for some time and most people in the world think, actually suspect, that there was another reason for the attack and not the one about helping poor Iragi people.
No one should interfere with another nation's affairs. |

Country: | Gotcha, however, as a Dad both of whose children are in the service,
I would observe that at least the Cold War was not killing an average of
two young Americans every day and brutally wounding ten times that. |

No one should interfere with another nation's affairs. | Saddam was giving every indication he had WMD's. It was the right thing to do. The problem was Bush appointed morons to help rebuild the country, and they blew it big time.

hmmmmmmmm do I seem a bit edgy | Maybe a little I think it's just that this specific topic of nbc's has been covered relentlessly. Some people seem to think that what mainstream media reports must be accurate. There have been substantial stocks of weapons found - yet this has received such little media coverage. Not to mention the hordes of syrians that are fighting in Iraq. It's more complicated than a civil war. The guys that have been over there can attest to the fact that the media simply just makes crap up about missions and whatever else is going on over there at times - which I get to look forward to soon enough.

Country: | Consider this - it's remarkable how the mainstream media ignores items such as this when it doesn't fit the agenda... WorldNetDaily: Saddam's WMD have been found

Country: | so you have been called up then ? maybe I missed a former posting by you on this subject ? the Syrians can deny all they want and they have but they have infiltrated everywhere into Jordon, Lebanon, well we have seen recent activity in Israel with Syrian backed thugs and children wanna-be's.
though not necessarily Iraq involved I do wait for Israel to respond to Iran and maybe closer to home, Syria aka Damascus coming for a luncheon date ♫ |

Country: | The WMD's are in Syria and still burried in the Desert. It will take decades to find those that are burried in the Desert. I will say it again. Anyone that does not believe that there were WMD's in Iraq is foolish and naive. We found some when I was in Iraq.
The purpose of going to war was a real and good reason, polotics is what screwed it up and why we are where we are at now.

I'm just checking into my advanced flight training squadron now - then after that's done it's off to fly MV-22s. Already told me that I'll be put into whatever squadron deploys first overseas. Hopefully I'll have time to make another baby before going

Country: | 102, am not so positive it was politics that did not allow us the gains in Nam. It was not a declared war even though LBJ and tricky (Dickie) had other ideas in their heads. We did not have total population support and since this was during the uncertain love not make war 60's you can see the reason why soon enough. My feelings it was about power and greed, and too much cover up by certain elected officials, some of them still in power who are over-due for IMPALEMENT. And you guys think we ares screwed up now under our present administration ? ........... man if you could of been around in the 60's early 70's, but that was moons ago |
