| The Tet Offensive was the greatest defeat for N. Vietnam in the war, but Walter Conkrite and companions in the news declared and portrayed it as a big victory thus starting the demise of the war. American news systems are the greatest weapons our enemy has and they have learned how to use it effectively.
Iraq is not yet lost. I am not sure that the west can afford a loss. Unlike Vietnam, if Iraq is lost to the terrorist or to anarchy, the west will be held hostage to oil and terrorism and someone, most likely the US, will have to go back in a much more hazardous situation. |
