Country: | All media is going to have a nationalistic approach to some extant now that being said some are just a little too much and I find Fox skews the news and I don't find them the least little bit objective kind of like Al Jazeera western style

| Fox news is popular because at least it try's to be somewhat fair.
Many times they will have an opposing view being told.

Fair?? hmmmmm When I think of Fox News I think a little about Tabloids or Jerry Springer show rather than a fair or worthy news broadcast.
But thats just me.
No offense meant.

| Why do you think that? You ever watch Foxnews?
Not even I would say CBS/NBC/ABC are tabloids.
Liberals are angry at Fox news because its ratings are increasing while audiences are deserting the other three network news shows.

Country: | There has been a very "left" slant on the news here in the states for a number of years and Fox kind of answered the call to balance it, although I agree they do go far right at times but it's what their audience is looking for. For example, when the "illegal immigrant" issue is brought up some of the more liberal news channels dropped the term "Illegal" when reporting about immigrants - that's a bunch of crap, it's their way of being politically correct....

Perhaps I have had the bad luck just to see some of their bad clips. Recently I watched the news men who was doing the interview making fun of and calling the person he just interviewed a kook (I think that was what he said if I recall). I agreed with him but still it was unprofessional to say that on TV. There was one other interview in the few months I thought was unprofessional I saw on Fox news but sorry I can't recall what it was about at this time.
When he called the person a kook, Jerry Springer just came to mind when I saw that, even if he didn't agree or like the person he should of never said that on the air. He should be reporting a unbiased report and let the people decide whatever they want.
Like I said IMHO and maybe I just caught a couple bad reports from them, not sure. If you say it is good maybe I will give it another try.

Country: | I saw one where they called a guy a kook because he's part of the movement claiming that Bush set up 9-11. Now as much as folks hate Bush 9-11 was not an inside job, but the people pushing this are believing really far out stuff, so that's why the commentator appropriately called him a "Kook."

Its just my opinion that news casters should never insult or belittle someone they interview. I think it shows a lack of character and professionism. I agree with the guy saying and believing that, but I think he should of held that comment until he was off air.
Sorry Joe if you see it different but thats just how I see it. A news cast is not a locker room or on your deck in your back yard. I see it as a professional and unbiased place for the people to get their information. If that information is pasted onto to the people in a unprofessional or a biased way then that is doing the people that it is intended to serve a disservice.
Sorry Joe just my opinion.

Sorry Joe just my opinion. | Actually I agree with you - the news is supposed to be unbiased - now if it was on a talk show and the host wants to debut the guy, that's fine, but during a news hour is not the time for antics...

OK I will agree with you there. News should be unbiased and professional. But if it just a talk show then he can say whatever. OK thats fair.

| Theres a big difference between reporting the news, and also having news shows that are for editorial and debate.
Foxnews has both.
Foxnews also attempts to get the other side's opinion on many issues.

Country: | Anybody catch any of the BBC coverage of the Hiz./Israeli scrap? Man, talk about biased. You'd think somebody in Hizbollah (sp?) is paying their bills or at least advertising on the network. Saw about 20 seconds of it and was amazed at how one sided and biased it was. I'm talking scary biased, propaganda level stuff. Normally they at least give a shot at showing the other side (here in the States even if it is a straw dog) but no such luck with the BBC. Israel was wrong, end of story. |
