Country: | Well looks like we got our November surprise. And I like it. Kerry may have single handedly cost himself the 2004 elections, the 2006 demo run for house and senate, and his chances for the 2008 presidential election.
He is such a pompous @ss arrogant prick that he is unwilling to admit he made a mistake and apologize for it. If this guy EVER became president, we all should be very afraid that this same narcissistic egomaniac would make decisions only with emotions and his best interests in mind. Party of the People. Right.

I'd submit that almost any democrat that strays too far from the liberal ideals (liberal meaning in american politics) gets abandoned by the party, which is run by a hardcore liberal left which, as polls show, lie way further to the left than the american mainstream. Hence the liberals policy of legislating from the bench and getting judges to do what they cannot get passed through congress.

Hence the liberals policy of legislating from the bench and getting judges to do what they cannot get passed through congress. | Some clarification is needed. My point was more along the lines of those who are running for office as apposed to those who are in office. Some, not all but some, of the Dems running for office and not liberals per se. They are more centerists in their perspective. It is common to have such a drift happen to the party out of power. They move towards the center. The center is where people get elected. On the fringe is where people get nominated. But you have to appeal to the broadest spectrum of voters. Most americans, Democrat or Republican, consider themselves centrists.
As far as the hardcore libs, lib judges and overall university types, the majority are kneejerk leftovers from the 70s. Many of the Anti-War groups from the 70s found themselves without a cause at the end of the war (or more specifically, at the end of the Draft) and morphed into everything from evnirnomentalist groups to ACLU lawyers. As they got older, got clout and whatnot, they moved into positions of responsibility or authority. It is something of the natural order of things that these progressions happen, likeable or not.
I would prefer Judges to Judge, Legislators to pass laws, ect. But that ain't always the way it happens. |
