Part of our problem in this country is that the democrat party has managed to appeal to a bunch of single issue voters. For instance: the black vote, the women's libbers( including pro-choice) the unions, the people on welfare, the environmentalists, the homo-sexuals, the "peace at all costs group." They have a strong foothold with the latino vote. Most of those groups don't know or care that the democrat party is controlled by the far left. The conservatives who mostly vote Republican only have basically one belief. The less government the better. If the single issue groups vote in large numbers, the US's goose is cooked and we turn into a socialist country.

No ofcourse I will vote. I allways vote. I just will not vote for either of these two pieces of ****.

The only one I do not vote for is State Elections because I do not have a Home State and since I live in Europe I would not get eneogh info on who to vote for anyhow.

Now once I move to Alaska I will start taking part in State elections there.

I have a feeling that, come election time, there is going to be one hell of a
change in the course this country is now taking. Do you realize that all...
yes, ALL of the seats of the House of Reps are up for grabs this election ?

People, like me, are wondering why Rep Thelma Drake (R of Va.) would vote
against raising the minimum wage, but would give herself a pay raise
($3,700.00). Has voted almost in lock-step with everything Bush wants,
but won't listen to her own people.

And she's not the only one..... all over this country are Republicans who are
going to be out of a job come election time.

They will be a lot of people (present company included) who will be crying
in their beer after the dust settles.

Get ready for it.... it's coming !

Vote your philosophy (political, economic, social issues, security, military), not the party. Partisan politics is dangerous. I know conservative friends of mine who vote for liberal Democrats only because their families have historically voted with the Dems. Many Republicans and Democrats vote for their party's candidates the same way they root for their favorite sport teams.

In my view you're either a liberal or you're a conservative (forget the far-left and far-right wack jobs, they don't count).

Decide which direction this country should follow and make your choices. And if you've read my posts, you know where I stand.

That bitch has got to lose

Not sure what Republican I'm backing yet, but whoever wins the nomination gets my vote. The most important thing is to keep her out of the white house and reduce her to an abberation in American politics. Because if she wins, America loses.

It is called the "ship of state " for reason every ship must adjust it's course or risk hitting something solid so small corrections like a real ship or aircraft are needed . If you continue in one direction for too long you make a circle or possibly many circles.
So every once in a while you must turn either right (consevative) or left (liberal). The other option is steer the course but of course the wind (world affairs) or the current (economy) affect your course and you must alter course every once in a while .

I'm not talking about "altering course". Talking about a fundamental change in the fabric of the USA. It's traditional, Judeo-Christian America against the forces who would make us a secular-progressive, socialist, anything goes society.

Guess I sound like a broken record, but it's that important

You're right TO. This is a pivotal election where one needs to vote their morals. I'm not quite as pessimistic as ccheese, but I do think that we will continue to see a polarization of issues, voters who support those issues, and candidates who begin to take more positions at the extremes of the scale.

I looked relativist up I've voted in more elections then most of the american guys and it's just an observation , things are promised and the promises are broken.
Ontario the prov I live in is having the provincial election now and our minority federal government will fall shortly and the main issue will be whether to extend our mission in Afghanistan past 2009 or not for which I'm pro extending

TO, I agree with you but why would I not. Anyone who is using the patch of the 45th has got to be in the right. Them and the T patchers of the 36th were some of the best.
