Back on topic, read in the paper today that some of the younger Japanese politicians are speaking of Japan becoming nuclear. While constitutionally prohibited, talking of such is unheard of and is likely to make SK and China a bit nervous.

Country: | Just announced. NK informed China of 3 more upcoming nuke tests. John Bolten, US delegate to UN, confirmed this report and is the process of drafting yet another resolution. Hmmm. Military response? Drafted perhaps. But approved? Not likely.

Country: | Yeah, but scientists calculated that if ever there is a nuclear war, the first cities to be nuked in America would be Montréal on the east coast, and Vancouver on the west coast.
Why ? Because no one would be crazy enough to directly attack the USA.
BUT, those calculs were made before 9/11. |

Country: | They have to first have a missle that can reach N. America and the only missle that N. Korea has that could do that could only reach Alaska and it was a failure on launch when tested.

Country: | They're saying now that China flexed her muscles and NK is backing down and apologized for the test and pledged not to continue the program. Keeping in mind they "stopped" their program years ago as well. Let's see how this works its way out.

Yeah, they say that however I am not inclined to believe them, I would say the have one planned and ready to go when the word is given, it will just be a little while after the uproar from the first has died down a bit.

Country: | I heard today some ecologists weirdos saying that scientists were doudting if the Human race would still be on earth in 2050 because of global warming.
Hey ! The problem isn't global warming, it's the weirdos in Iran and N. Korea who could drag us into a world wide nuclear war ! |

Country: | They really are like children - each one crying and screaming louder to get the attention of the world. They are pretty laughable sometimes. Iran put on that mililtary might show about 2 months ago, and in one exercise attempted to wow the world by launching some sort of small missile into basically a rowboat and blew it up. That was one of the best laughs I had had in months.

Country: | I just read an interesting article about how the Palestinians thwarted many of the Isreali maneuvers and attacks by intercepting their transmissions on some encrypted commo equipment. They theorized that this equipment came from Iran (via Russia and China). This same equipment was noted to be used in Iraq, also with Iran's help.
So while I too see the humor here. There is a real side to this that is costing the good guys their lives.

This sophisticated SigInt equip does not just build itself - it's got to be coming from somewhere. There are a few very likely "somewheres."
