Yeah I think this fact alone tells you that the ops in lebanon, as well as in Iraq, are not simply home grown resistance w/o substantial outside support. None ever is. Now - how do you deal with who is funding them... I think that's one of the big unanswered questions of Iraq policy.

Country: | Drive a one hundred mile broad wedge into their country with three armoured divisions, and roll it into their capital?

Country: | I gotta applaud this funny little guy Kim Jong Il... He sure has all you guys frightened.
Fact: North Korea claimed it re-started the Yongbyon reactor in 2002 in order to harvest Plutonium for a nuclear weapon.
Fact: The nuclear blast was not a plutonium bomb.
Fact: The blast was a failed uranium A-bomb warhead.
Fact: North Korea bluffed and lied that it could make a Plutonium bomb.
Fact: North Korea is enjoying watching all you guys wet your pants.
Fact: North Korea's nuke test was a failure. |

| Well all I read here is hysterical reaction like a bunch of schoolgirls who can't hold their bladders.
The fact is North Korea has pretended that it was using the Yongbyon reactor to generate nuclear waste. Without nuclear waste you cannot obtain Plutonium. North Korea pretends that the whole point of Yongbyon was to separate Plutonium for bomb building.
They ought to be the subject of ridicule and derision for their failure. Instead you are feeding Kim Jong Il's Paranoid Psychosis by reacting to confirm his hysteria with your own. The West has swallowed this psychotic fear mongering by North Korea hook, line and sinker. Western media publish estimates that they must by now have harvested enough Plutonium to build eight bombs... Now that's crap.
The yeild of that bomb was sow low that it was clearly a failed nuclear explosion.
It's pure scientific reasoning DerAdlerIstGelande. The way that a Plutonium bomb works, you cannot get a failed blast. The implosion trigger detonation has to be so precise, that either you get a nuclear explosion, or you don't.
Only a Uranium A-bomb could yeild a failed test blast like the recent one. If it was a Uranium bomb then it has all been a big game of bluff.
Wake up ... smell the coffee. They failed to build a bomb, but they succeeded in scaring the bee jeebers outta you guys. Quote: |

| It wont be US troops either because most of your guys are bogged down in that mess in Iraq... Put there I might add because some jellyfish got hysterical that Saddam had Weapons of Mass Destruction.
If I was in a foxhole, I wouldn't want to be sharing it with a scared cowering jellyfish. I'd rather be there with someone who can keep their nerve and assess the facts rationally.
Nobody objected to Kiwi troops fighting in WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam or Afghanistan. A few people with cool heads had the sense not to get involved in that mess in Iraq.

Country: | Kiwikid isn't all that wrong... But he isn't all that right neither.
Okay, the A-bomb was an Uranium bomb. But where the hell did they found the Uranium ? Iran ? If they are buying Uranium from them we might have a WWIII really soon.
Okay, it was a "failed" nuclear test. But what prooves that they are not currently building one (or more) bomb(s) to make more tests and, eventually, succeed in building a working A-bomb ?
In this case, we might end in a flash ! |

| BAWAHAHAHHAAAAAHAAAAAA
The Green Party, Aunty Helen?
Cool Heads and Sense.
You ARE SH!TTING ME.
Fact.
Aunty H, just like the previous female Prime Minister does NOT get briefed on ALL military operations under way.
Reason.
It has been learnt they can't keep their damn mouths shut.
Reality.
When Aunty H says "I can't discuss that" when asked about the military she is bloody right, because she doesn't have a clue, SHE WAS NEVER TOLD.
PS. just a piece of advice.
This is a military forum, with a lot of current and ex military people in it.
It is "rather bad form" to tell someone from the sidelines that a mission they have just survived 12 months doing was a mess, and that their Commander in Chief is a Coward.
THAT is a rapid way to get horizontal at the bar, or worse in the field.

I spent 14 months in that ****ing sand box having rockets fired at my helicopter and small arms fire fired at my helicopter and getting rockets and morters dropped on my while I tried to sleep. No one, especially a NOOB like yourself is going to call me scared cowering jellyfish!
DONT TALK **** TO SOMEONE WHEN YOU DONT KNOW THE ****ING FACTS YOURSELF!

Country: | Kiwikid well, you seem informed on the subject but your delivery of it was not so good to put it politely. Chris / Adler is a Mod here and well respected by all who talk to him. He has served his country (like others here have also) and fought for our Western freedoms that we all enjoy (that includes your freedoms whether you like to admit it or not).
As you now know this (him being a MOD) before it gets worse for you or you get banned I would settle down and be bit more respectful. Disagreeing is one thing but you have been insulting.
You sit here and call these people alsorts of names, insulting them what do you expect was going to happen? You have been here for what 1-2 months only???
I read your profile and it says your occupation is airline catering.....is that another name for stewardess??? You have little room to insult Chris who has fought in the military when you do "airline catering". He has bled serving his country......have you bled catering???

I need to go to bed. If it were not the fact that me and my wife are going to watch a movie tonight I would be.
