DURING HIS VERY BRIEF TIME IN THE UNITED STATES SENATE HE HAS MANAGED TO AMASS THE NUMBER ONE ULTRA LIBERAL VOTING RECORD OUT OF THE ONE HUNDRED MEMBERS.

HE HAS VOTED CONSISTENTLY FOR BIGGER GOVERNMENT AND HIGHER TAXES. HE HAS VOTED FOR BIG ENTITLEMENTS AND LEGISLATION THAT WOULD SEVERELY CURTAIL AMERICA'S ABILITY TO FIGHT TERRORISM AND TO PROTECT OUR BORDERS AND OUR NATIONAL INTERESTS AROUND THE WORLD.

I would just point out that the USA voted for the current President whose background was less than ideal and nearly selected Hillary as a candidate, whose only claim to fame seems to be that she was married to a President.

From this side of the pond it is a bit of a mystery to me how the USA chooses its President.

TO, superb post, all true and it sums it up nicely. It looks at Hussein Obama strictly from one point of view only but why can't people see all the warning signs and realise how dangerous he might be. Contrast his lineage and background with McCain( he is far from perfect but) his grandfather was an admiral, USN, his father was an admiral, USN, he graduated from Annapolis, served as a naval aviator for many years, survived the carnage on the deck of the Forrestal (arguably was a hero but did his duty) survived more than 5 years as POW(arguably was a hero but did his duty,) has served in the House and Senate for many years and has a long voting record to examine but always seems to put his country first. He and his wife adopted a little girl from a foreign country with cleft palet and spent a great deal to help her, has three natural children, two of whom are serving in US military and he and his wife, who is quite successful in business, seem to be upstanding people. A lot more there but compare the two and can any rational person tell me that Obama comes even close to having the qualifications for president McCain has?

Is it his fault that his parents had these kinds of relationships? As for Harvard I know little about it but he probably got there on merit and if money helped well with the fees, then probably the Grandparents must have had some money behind them. I suspect Harvard isn't cheap.

As for being proud of his heritage well I am proud of my parents. My Father was a Conscientious Objector who refused to fight in WW2 and I admire him for sticking to his principles. I served in the RN and defended his principles against all comers when the topic was raised.

Re the work that Obama has done he wouldn't be the first President (or Prime Minister in the UK) who has been a career politician with little if any experience in the real world and no doubt, will not be the last.

The other points in the posting are valid questions and no doubt raise questions as to who people should vote for and why, but it’s my belief that the posting would have had more effect, if the rhetoric had been left out.

Glider it is about perception. It is the way you come across. If skellz had handled himself differently, I would not have reacted as I did.

Glider and Skellz - I think what you're missing here is many of us in this country have heard the BS Obama is pushing 30 and 40 years ago. LBJ and Jimmy Carter were pushing pseudo socialist agendas and although Johnson will always be remembered for this Vietnam debacle, many forget the way he enlarged the size of government and basically created a welfare state. In my book it has nothing to do with the color of his skin but the line he's pushing. Although folks like Obama and he might be very appealing to Europeans, there are many Americans who see him as a detriment to not only our national security but our economy. If he's elected I see it getting a lot worse that what it is right now in the US.
The US economy thrives when there is opportunity for investment, not when those with money are taxed to death and I see that happening with an Obama presidency.

This is relevant Glider because over here, constantly we have to hear about "the Black Canidate", the savior of African -Americans, yadda, yadda, yadda. He has prided his campaign on being a minority and the only mention of his white background is when he talks about his grandma who was - in his words - a "typcial white person". He is more proud of what he isn't than of what he is.
