Rank Bush's Presidency. Please, Only US Citizens Can Vote

Please, while anyone can comment, I only want US members to vote.

How do you rate him, now that we are in the final weeks of his presidency?

I rate him high in foreign affairs, but the massive 1 trillion dollar bailout package was to much for me to swallow. This happened on his watch, and as president, he gets the blame. In fact, his whole performance on the issues of immigration, budgets, trade deficits and deregulation is petty much a failure in my eyes.

As such, I am rating him between a 6 and 7. A near failure.

I am going to give him as underperforming, for the same reasons as Sys.

I do however not feel that he should take as much blame for things as he does.

agree with Chris, his policies for the border south of us has wainned too fast it is useless, the bail-out plea was pathetic though I blame both sides for this.

though I admit he is the better person for the mid-east quandry we are stuck in Gore would of whinned all through this till his termship was up

Not voting because I think that it's impossible to rank (in most cases) a sitting president. Bush's legacy for the most part is tied to what happens in Iraq. I'm sure that no one will ever confuse W with Washington or Lincoln, but the end game in Iraq will cement W's place in history.

Best case scenario is that he would be looked on as average, worst case, a disaster.

Exactly anyone that is going to only blame Bush for this (even if he is the president) is either naive or a democrat. Both suck!

The only reason why I don't mark him bad or a failure is because he did do a good job in the post 9-11 era. I see a lot of similarities on how he and Gerald Ford are perceived and I think history will ultimately be a lot kinder to Bush than the media has been.

I agree with TO. IIRC at the end of Reagan's pres. there was alot of name-calling about Iran-Contra, absent-minded, etc. But now 20+ years on, he is regarded as one of the best.

So while it was a toss-up between average and underperforming I went with average in anticipation of how a few years of his policies work out.

comiso, Bush may be a lot of things, but he's no criminal.

Keith Olbermann believes that he is; that's proof enough for me that he is not.

I dont claim pelosi is any better and I'm not a Dem. I've been a registered Republican all my life. I'm just horribly cynical in regards to politics. This is not the same country I (We) grew up in... something went terribly wrong.

Our brilliant American legacy has been sullied through inept leadership.

Fair enough, can't blame you for feeling that way.

But not fair to say "criminal". That's the garbage the far left pukes put out.

In some ways, I agree with you on that, Comiso. America of the Reagan years, while not perfect, looks like a utopia compared to now.

I rate Bush as a failure. He was surrounded by experienced people, some of which were good leaders. That is the reason it wasn't worse, in my opinion. He wasn't the cause for the financial meltdown, but he certainly urged congress to pass the bailout. He claimed to be sending American soldiers overseas to make us safer, while our back door was, and still is, wide open.

World opinion of the US is at an all time low, and the dollar is in the crapper.
