| Rock and Roll Culture I think if there's anything that has been damaging to society, it's been the rock and roll culture that has been accepted as "the norm". Sure some of the music is ok (barely), but look at the people who play it Madonna, Prince, Britney Spears, Mikel Jackson, and the like. What kind of example are these folks to kids? ie. Madonna kissing another woman during a concert, mikel under suspicion of child molestation, Britney ditto Madonna, Prince acting very queer. Mik Jager, Aerosmith as queer as they get. These so called stars abuse their influence by misguiding the youth.
Ironic that the worst examples and worst leaders end up influencing teens the most.
I also find it interesting that so many American accept this music as normal. When you really listen to it, you just think "this is complete non sense". It bothers me that it perverts the kid's mind set, and turns them into a new generation of freaks like the ones who created the music to start with. |

Country: | Rock and Roll and Britney Spears should never be said in the same paragraph....
I think your mixing up Pop and Rock.... Rock and Roll is ACDC and RUSH, not Madonna....
And if u think those dumb ass bitches are bad for the youth of America, u should go see a GWAR concert sometime.... The last time I saw them, they cut open a pregnant chicks swollen abdomen and removed the fetus...

Country: | Well, I listened to Rock and Roll, not pop growing up and while there is certainly some bad elements to it, it comes down to parenting. I know my parents weren't pleased with a lot of the music I listened to, but it was not music that shaped the way I am today. It was a big part of my youth as something to listen to, but that's about it. Sports stars aren't any better. The music that is on the radio today is mostly crap done by mediocre musicians (I am being generous here). Having worked in the music business for a while, I can tell you it's not about talent, it's only about money.
Provide the right guidance as a parent and you don't have to worry too much about the music they listen to. My son looks up to his grandfather and the guys at the museum where I volunteer. Get them interested young in something that holds good values and they will be fine.

Country: | I hardly think your opinion should count here Harvard, since you don't even know what Rock 'n' Roll is ... dufus! And you've picked the wrong forum to try and bad mouth rock , since most of us on here are rockers to some degree.
Trust me, I'd rather listen to AC/DC singin' about sluts and sex ... than little 12 year old boys singing about God ...

Country: | He is right, though. I prefer listening to Nickelback with a song as follow : Nickelback - Animals
"I, I’m driving black on black
Just got my license back
I got this feeling in my veins
this train is coming off the track
I’ll ask polite if the devil needs a ride
Because the angel on my right
ain’t hanging out with me tonight
I’m driving past your house
while you were sneaking out
I got the car door opened up
so you can jump in on the run
Your mom don’t know
that you were missing
She’d be pissed if she could see
the parts of you that I’ve been kissing
Screamin’
No, we’re never gonna quit
Ain’t nothing wrong with it
Just acting like we’re animals
No, no matter where we go
‘Cause everybody knows
We’re just a couple animals
So come on baby, get in
Get in, just get in
Check out the trouble we’re in
You’re beside me on the seat
Got your hand between my knees
And you control how fast we go
by just how hard you wanna squeeze
It’s hard to steer
when you’re breathing in my ear
But I got both hands on the wheel
while you got both hands on my gears
By now, no doubt that we were heading south
I guess nobody ever taught her
not to speak with a full mouth
‘Cause this was it, like flicking on a switch
It felt so good I almost drove into the ditch
I’m screamin’
No, we’re never gonna quit
Ain’t nothing wrong with it
Just acting like we’re animals
No, no matter where we go
‘Cause everybody knows
We’re just a couple animals
So come on baby, get in
Get in, just get in
Look at the trouble we’re in
We were parked out by the tracks
We’re sitting in the back
And we just started getting busy
When she whispered “what was that?”
The wind, I think ‘cause no one else knows
where we are
And that was when she started screamin’
“That’s my dad outside the car!”
Oh please, the keys, they’re not in the ignition
Must have wound up on the floor while
we were switching our positions
I guess they knew that she was missing
As I tried to tell her dad
it was her mouth that I was kissing
Screamin’
No, we’re never gonna quit
Ain’t nothing wrong with it
Just acting like we’re animals
No, no matter where we go
‘Cause everybody knows
We’re just a couple animals
So come on baby, get in
We’re just a couple animals
Get in, just get in
Ain’t nothing wrong with it
Check out the trouble we’re in
We’re just a couple animals
Get in, just get in"
... Instead of listening to a freak like Robbi Williams.
And what kind of music do you listen to, Harvard ? Bing Crosby ? |

Country: | I'm sorry, Havard, I don't take orders from you ... so don't think I ever will.

Country: | Well Harvard none of that you described is Rock music.
2nd Rock Music does not make a person bad or influence them to do bad things. If they were going act that way, they would do without music.
Im not taking offense to it, but I think you are stereotyping a bit here. I love Rock Music. The Rolling Stones and Aerosmith that you mentioned up there as Queer happen to be 2 of the greatest bands of all time. Metallica, Guns N Roses, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, are all some of the best music out there.
Hell if Rock music influences the way people are why am I not dead or in Jail. I have turned out to be an outstanding member of society. I pay my taxes, I help old ladies across the street, Im respectful to senior citizens, I do charity work sometimes and I serve my country in the armed forces.
With all of this I still love Rock and Heavy Metal Music. Why? Because I enjoy listening to it. It is not depressing and whiney music.
That really is a bit of a stereotype and I have to say I disagree with you Harvard.
Just a question I would like to know what kind of music you listen to Harvard?

| If we are referring to Spears, Duff and Lohan and all that bubblegum bullshit teenybopper show ur bellybutton crap music, then I agree 100% with that quoted paragraph..... The young girls of the World are being poisoned by this kind of worthless, talentless and just plain crap ass music...
I love old Classic Aerosmith, and have seen them live 3X in the 80's, but the new **** I just cant deal with.... If I hear that Love in an Elevator song one more time, I'm going to the Mall with my Mossberg and take me some payback....
Never liked the Stones... **** Keith Richards.... Quote: |

| Me too..... You can have my Neil Peart drumstick when u pry it from my frozen clentched fist....

Country: | There are more still to be announced. Besides them at the show I really want to see Lacuna Coil again aswell as In Flames, Stone Sour, Opeth, and Soul Fly. The festival is awesome, I have been to it 8 times now. pD is even flying into Nurnberg and I am going to pick him up at the Airport and he is going to go with me and my friends to the show.
