Country: | I know what you guys mean. Well I am now going to a camp where they will teach you to shoot a AK-47 and many other semi-automatic weapons and other weapons and learn how to shoot from moving vechiles and infiltration into houses and buildings and it would be like basic training for the time when the sh*t will hit the fan.
I have been wanting to learn how to shoot, but my dad only has a 38 special revolver she can pack a punch if she needs to, but I need bigger than that. Boys and their toys.

Country: | Nothing wrong with preparing yourself, Henk. Just mind your manners. The S hasn't hit the fan yet and a street insult is not a reason to hate all MFers and let God sort out the rest. Easy my friend.

Country: | Well they have formally charged Zuma with corruption (again). Wonder if these charges will go anywhere. Zuma formally charged: South Africa: Politics: News24

Country: | Yes, I think they will go somewhere. Mbeki lost the race for the ANC president and now he will get Zuma in big trouble and willtry his best to stop Zuma from becoming president of SA.
I must say Zuma will sack all the use less people in the Government that was loyal to Mbeki and means something good, but I do not trust the ANC so nothing they do at this point is good.

Country: | True for any good to happen I think at least a coalition between the ANC and some of the liberal conservative parties (ideally I would like to see the ANC out of power but this is an unrealistic proposition - they have to much support among the Black population). I don't see this happening in the near future, unfortunately. Hopefully it will happen or the country will slowly disintegrate.

Country: | Pretty wild Henk - of course you don't hear about the musicians who made the song "I won't play in Sun City" back in the 80s getting involved in anything like this....

My mom also told me that there were a lot of other races at Sun City and not only whites.
Something I would just like to say. I will never just be wrongful towards someone of a other racial group because of the fact that he/she is from another racial group. I will still be a nice person towards those who give me the same respect that I give them no matter the race.
Like they say; it takes two to tango.

Country: | Jeez, thanks Henk. The racist songs you posted are VERY disturbing. The mob mentality is very scary. I hope these songs do not forbode things to come.

Country: | This thread is really depressing..... It's a good thing that they all have their "freedom" now, I'm sure they feel much better (as the country goes down the cr@pper)
Its even more scary to see the same breakdown of society starting to happen here....

The thing is that so many people do not know what is going on here. They think the blacks are very nice and friendly people here and that Mandela was innocently put in jail and the ANC is heros for South Africa.
Some people from the US once asked me; "does the lions walk in the streets there?" So I answered it with; "Yes, we hunt them and we have pet elephants as well." (they believed me to)
To worry the whole time about everything that is going on around you will just make you depressed, I live in South Africa what worse can happen so to speak? You learn how to live with it, but not except it as well.

When I was flying into Gaborone this woman from some liberal "save the trees" organization was on the plane - her mouth was flapping a mile a minute. She started commenting about the countryside and how beautiful it was. I turned around and said "Lady, it looks like Bakersfield" (Those of you from Southern California would know what I mean). There was a round of laughter from the rear of the aircraft as there were several people on board from California including a few Botswanan ex-pats.

Another one I got was; "Why do you call it South Africa? Isn't it in the Northern parts of Africa?"

Country: | Yeah there are some stupid people who visit Africa. An example was when I was in Tanzania (at Lake Manyara National Park) there was an American who stood up at dinner and proclaimed loudly who he was going to "see the Tigers tomorrow". Anyone with any knowledge smiled and laughed quietly at him (although the only place I have seen Tigers was Africa - they were pets not wild - although I have read of a project to captive release them in South Africa).
The misconceptions about Africa though are widespread, most people know next to nothing about it. Those that live there generally get on with life whatever is going on around them.
