Like I said in a previous post I hate poiltics, but when all this things go on in your country you tend to look for "greener pastures" like I am doing.

Its is very interesting to see all the comments from our overseas forum friends. I would like to add than I'm a civil serant(graphic designer for education department) and I see daily how problems get swept under the carpet, and how racism clearly plays a very big part in decision making.

to be honest this place is in shambles, the lastest bieng a pledge that all children must say in mornings at school reading like this(nazism, marxism?):

We the youth of South Africa, recognising the injustices of our past, honour those who suffered and sacrificed for justice and freedom.

"We will respect and protect the dignity of each person, and stand up for justice.

"We sincerely declare that we shall uphold the rights and values of our Constitution and promise to act in accordance with the duties and responsibilities that flow from these rights."

Good Lord....Its going to take centuries to sort things out in SA. Too much hate and bigotry on both sides to even settle in our lifespans. Sad but true. Until we face each other one on one and speak the same language, this is not going to go away. I am so tired of people from other countries chiming in on how we in the US should run ours, its about time we realize its just a matter of global ignorance!!

I feel your pain. I live in Oregon, otherwise known as Northern Northern California.

One of my best friends is a white South African; I've had a few discussions with him about SA. There's certainly no regrets from him, the violence and corruption there brought him to the U.K. - unfortunately his family still remain in SA.

I've always brought up with Mandela being a terrorist, completely against the grain of British PC. They erect statues of the man who has led a country from civilisation into an ancient tribal mess. To me, the starvation of Rhodesia is poetic justice because of their treatment of the white farmers. I find it horrible to see that a nation such as South Africa that had the power to support the Allied war effort has suddenly become a puddle of mud.

I understand your feeling, Henk - it's a horrible home, but it's still your home. I hope something massive happens to turn that place around; but it doesn't seem likely.

The U.K is being overrun by the Middle-East - it'll probably be Islamic by 2020 - one half of me wants to abandon it to the dogs; the other half wants to hold up the fort. But unfortunately any idea of holding the fort against the (practically) invading hordes is exactly what the government doesn't want us to do. They've gotten on all fours and accepted defeat... here, you drive past thousand year old churches, hundreds of years old castles, pillboxes, hear of aircraft wrecks ... and realise they've stood all that time, defended this place ... and some mother f*cker in a suit has just handed this place to 'em.
