Democrats like to define themselves as the party of poor and middle-income Americans, but a new study says they now represent the majority of the nation's wealthiest congressional districts.

In a state-by-state, district-by-district comparison of wealth concentrations based on Internal Revenue Service income data, Michael Franc, vice president of government relations at the Heritage Foundation, found that the majority of the nation's wealthiest congressional jurisdictions were represented by Democrats.

He also found that more than half of the wealthiest households were concentrated in the 18 states where Democrats hold both Senate seats.

Not sure I'm following you. I posted a news article that is interesting because it tends to counter a popular held belief that the democrats are the party of the lower and middle class. (Those of us who know better know that the democrats are really just the party of "Get everyone on the government's teat" because everyone votes their self interest and when people's self interests are aligned with the democrats agenda of cradle to grave entitlements, the democrats accumulate and maintain power.)

Exactly what question were you referring to when you replied, "Well if you must read the Washington Times it is not surprising that you should ask such a question."

Agree with you Jank as it is a fiction that the Republican Party is the party of the haves and the democrats are the party of the have nots. The super rich almost invariably support the democrats whereas the Republican voter is almost invariably a middle or upper middle income earner. The reason that Republicans tend to be "haves" is because they have a job and the work for what they earn.

saw this too, in something other than the Times (heh,heh) and sorry to say, it was something I already suspected. They are slowly being revealed as phonies. Its why they're pressing the immigration issue - more voters for them.
