The Election of 1988 was so bad for the Dems, New Jersey, Vermont, Illinois, Maryland and even Califonia voted for Bush!
Only Minnesota, Hawaii, New York, Mass, & Washington were liberal enough to favor Dukakis.
Of these, Minnesota has a Republican Senator, and Hawaii, Mass & New York have had Republican governors in the last decade. {remember Romney & Pataki?}
The only state that kept the "perfect" {worst} Liberal record?
Of course - it was the home state of "Baghdad Jim" McDermott!
