| Pb I am going to have to side mostly with the Americans on this UN Issues. With utmost respect for the GroundPounders and Grunts who have served as PeaceKeeprs for the UN at times I see the UN as a Paper Tiger and I am speaking of the UN Organisation not the PeaceKeeprs Pb . My utmost respect goes to UN PeaceKeeprs always. But as a Governing Body the UN has been manipulated by Special Interests by various Nations and those Nations having their own AGENDAS which doesn't take into account for the PeaceKeepers, Civilians caught up in bloody wars the UN is trying to stop or the reasons why PeaceKeepers are sent to hot spots throughout the world. The UN in my opinion is and has been HYPOCRITICAL and has been used in such a way to lessen its effectiveness. The PeaceKeepers on the other hand who have to abide by UN Protocol have been caught in the middle of a Political Minefield trying to prevent slaughter of innocent Civilians and having their hands tied to be effective in bringing about peaceful resolutions. And this Pb is no insult to Canadian PeaceKeeprs nor Australian PeaceKeepers or Even British PeaceKeepers who have been sent by the UN any where in the world. Nations already mentioned view the UN as their Puppet as I view it Pb. And PeaceKeepers are used by the UN as a stop gap that gains nothing as too many times the PeaceKeepers are forced to stand back and watch the slaughter continue. That is my opinion Pb and that is not a insult to your service with the UN as a Canadian PeaceKeeper |
