Vietnamese Pro Demcracy Groups

Today my wife and I signed a petition at the Brisbane Suburb of Inala. The petition my wife and I signed was for the release of Pro-Demcracy Advocates who are currently in detention in Vietnamese Jails being found guilty by Vietnamese Courts. They are virtually Political Prisoners.

One particular gentleman was arrested not for being Pro Democratic but for the simple reason he is a Priest of the Catholic Church in Vietnam. His crime was to advocate for Freedom of Religion. There is a photo of him at a Vietnamese Court. The Priest is at best would be discribed is giving evidence in his own case, but for one thing. There is another person who I am told is a Police Officers with his hands around the Priest's mouth. The web site for the Advocracy group is below. The site has French English and Vietnamese versions to it. If you go into the Multi media section of the website it also has a Youtube video. Where you can see the Priest I am referring to. I am not be any means wishing to try and influence your opinion but I am bringing the site to your attention

I wish that before any of our politicians decide to visit these countries or open a dialogue, that they do alittle research into things like this. Its horrible for anyone of any religion to endure this. And sorry to say Emac this is where the Vatican needs to be more involved instead of counting its gold hordes. Maybe Christian faiths should take a page from the Muslim playbook?

Joking aside, I wish I could do more than read about it.

Sign the Petition on the website I would say Njaco would be a start or contact the organisation to offer support even if its just verbal mate. When I saw the photo of the Priest virtually being gagged in a court room. I just went you are kidding. Father Nyugan Van Ly was considered guilty before he had his trial. Look I am not a Catholic either but I believe in Freedom of Religion and the right to practise the Faith of your choice as long as it doesn't physically injure or destroy another person and their beliefs Njaco. Freedom of Religion is what we have in our countries Njaco. It appears not so in other countries mate.

And I also brought this website and news to this site. For another reason. I know there would be former Vietnam Veterans on this site or they know people who had served in Vietnam and the site would be passed onto them out of interest

Look down past the homepage and navigation to the site Njaco. I have not had a proper look through site myself. But you can contact Viettan themselves mate. As I said my wife and I signed the petition today at a shopping mall. Shopping Mall at Inala has quiet a few Vietnamese living around the area and locale. My wife and I go there from time to time to buy Asian Food. I had a very long talk to a Vietnamese Gentleman who spoke very good English. Apparently he escaped Vietnam during the early 1980s with his family to a refugee camp in Malaysia then onto the USA. Very interesting person to talk too
