I have great respect for the Japanese as a whole, but I've seen a lot of hypocrisy and double talk when dealing with them personally. I admire their work ethic, politeness and manners, at the same time I'd wish the current generation admit to the atrocities committed during WW2...

I feel the Japanese current generation should admit to what happened in WW2 just as the German current generation has however I do not feel they should be blamed and have it held against them. I hate it when people do it to German people and it should not be different for the Japanese.

Agree 100% - I don't believe any enemy combatant of WW2 in today's generation should be held responsible for the wrongs of a generation 50 years ago however, its when some go into denial or flat out lie about history is where I see the problem.

I had a running letter writing episode with the mayor of Hiroshima several years ago as he tried to demonize the US for the atomic bombings. When I pointed out the atrocities Japan did during WW2 his response was "We tend to remember history in a manner that suits us." WTF!!!

I agree too. That was in the past and should be remembered as such no as a black mark on the present generation.
