Country: | Freebird, don't mean to be dogmatic toward someone from Serbia but as I mentioned I would not presume to lecture him about his government. Would you mind explaining to me why it would be good for the US to elect a black president? Here comes some opinion that that doesn't make me feel very good. I think the weakening economy ( a normal business cycle with oil prices exacerbating the situation) is going to ensure that hussein obama is elected president in a close race. The war in Afghanistan is unwinnable for us because it is similar to Viet Nam(the Taliban has dispersed to the countryside where they can continue to operate and their supplies come in from the border with Pakistan) We don't really have a fight with the Taliban except they will nurture Al Quaeda if they control Afghanistan. The war in Iraq is being won and all it requires is for us to maintain our composure and probably keep forces there to help stablise the situation for the forseeable future ( like in Korea) Here is my prediction. If we believe what he says, hussein will pull our forces out of Iraq,allow that to dissolve into a mess with Iran, Saudi Arabia and Syria contributing to the chaos, put more forces into Afghanistan and involve us in a long counter insurgency we can't win (like the Soviets in Afghanistan) He may get us into a fracas with or in Pakistan as he has intimated over the support for the Taliban by some elements in Pakistan. In the meantime he will attempt to push the US further down the road toward Socialism. If you think $4.00 per gallon gasoline is expensive, hold onto your hats and buckle your seat belts.

Country: | I dont care if a candidate is black or white. I vote for what they stand for and who I think can best lead our country. That being said I do think that voting for someone because they are an african american is wrong...

Country: | My PASTOR said that it would really not matter in the end who we elect, only one candidate will bring the end sooner.
So, how can we tell if she is made of wood?

Country: | very small rocks...no..no...burn her!!!
It should not matter whether black, white, male, female. Its a question of who has integrity and who will do what is best for this country. Sadly I agree with Les, I don't think any of those running at the moment qualify but I'm praying, hoping that McCain remembers his roots and his convictions to throw away his partisan leanings.

I think it's different because US policy affects the rest of the world far more than Serbian policy would affect the USA. I think you WOULD have some preferences, probably prefer someone else would be in power in N.Korea, Venezuala or Iran. If you were asked if you would prefer ex-KGB cold warrior Putin or a free-market reformer to be President of Russia you probably would have an opinion. {but, just as Milos, not an actual vote} Quote: |

| Because for many years racism prevented blacks from ever having a chance to be President, so I agree with Milos that it would be good to have a black president. However I agree with you that it would be extremely bad for the USA to have THIS black guy as Prez. {Obama} Quote:

| Sorry Ren, I think a "win" is not possible in Iraq. {but "success" is}
I'm using Bush's original definition of a "win" in Iraq, a stable, free, democratic country and an ally in the war on terror.
Maybe I'm a pessimist, but I don't see it happening. {not through any failing of the US army, just that these people are still living back in the middle ages.}

Country: | well my sentiments are those of Les and have been since the candidates started running, they are all a bunch of no-goodies...........c'mon a Mulsim runs, if you can believe it. The Witch of Endor, man who would vote for that carnal woman who has nothing on her coat sleeve but dog poop and piss for brains, McCain who is so wishy washy and was never fully debriefed after Nam, you can tell in his slurred speech he had the crap beaten out of him and it has affected his mind thus a scary individual to take office... guess we all Namnites are a bit tweaked.......... So who will be the candidate that will supposedly save America and get her out of the mideast and up and running as she once was ........... ? No-one
