You need to use some syntax, mate.
I used the on-line translator because I don't remember my high school French & I can't type the accents anyways... {é & à}

Shows you how good my french is!

But seriously, you would think they could have a little sign in english too? Nooooo....

They're not on vacation, they live there dammit !

And by the way, if you call a Louisiana Cajun a "Bastardized French-Canadian", you'll get your @ss kicked in a heart beat.

What I meant was that the term "Canadian" had been bastardized as "Cajun", not referring to the people! Perhaps I should have used a better term...

I took a look at your test and I gotta admit I was somewhat bemused...Where were the REAL questions that matter to Canadians? You know, like the best way to club a baby seal to death, or how many cases of beer are needed for a family picnic. Or, how many weeks you have to pretend to work so you can draw unemplyment insurance, or the best way to score tax-free (and illegal) 'Indian' cigarettes. And what about the best method of jacking deer so you won't get caught , or the best time to go jiggin' for squid, or poaching lobsters? Or the best place to hide your guns from those over-paid, meddling, culturally-diversified urban bureaucrats in Ottawa?

As I pondered this conundrum, I came to the realization that I'm not really a Canadian at all...I'm a Maritimer who has little in common with those tight-a$$ CBC Upper Canadians who come here (Nova Scotia) to get away from their self-imposed hamster wheel, and then whine when we tell'em they can keep it for themselves. Yep, I'm just a laid-back, no-account Bluenoser who ain't gonna work 70 hrs a week so my boss can buy another Benz for his collection. I'd rather get a bottle of Captain Morgan's and go fishin'. 'Guess I'm just a pretty poor excuse for a 'Canadian'

i don't know why Freebird is concerned about French-language traffic signs. Nobody in Quebec pays any attention to them anyway. All you have to do is learn to scream 'Tabernac' and 'merde' while laying on the horn and the gas pedal. Works for me, anyway...

I enjoyed Les' comment on our sexual habits...It's true that some of us tend to take family bonding a bit too far, but really, we're rank amateurs compared to some of the American afficianados of the sport. We're generations away from producing anything close to the genetically-refined toothless,banjo-pickin' virtuosos that inhabit the hills of Kentucky and West Virginia. There is a reason that 'Deliverance' was set in the 'states' instead of staid and frumpy Canada...

Anyway, it's Canada Day, it's hot and sunny for a change, so I'm off to leer at the throngs of scantily-clad jailbait wandering around downtown

EDIT: 'Cajun' is derived from 'Acadien', the French settlers who were expelled from the Maritimes by the Brits. They didn't get'em all, though. My grandmother was a Robar, mon ami...

It's the same thing all over NJaco, there are decent people everywhere, usually beseiged by a bunch of crooks, idiots & nutjobs.

Just as the antics of Obama, Kerry, Kennedy {& Gay NJ Governors! } piss you off, we Patriotic Canadians get pissed off by a similar bunch of crackpots, usually Peaceniks/Communists/Islamists/ or you-name-it

Yeah, it seems like your US Democrats have trouble with sex & morals - I remember Letterman's top 10 tips for Clinton to avoid relationship conflicts - Invest in a humidor to moisten your cigars!

We try to keep up, but Clinton is a hard act to follow!

One of our Liberal Cabinet Ministers was supposedly cheating with a Hockey players wife.

Former NHL player Tie Domi alleged to have cheated with Canadian MP Belinda Stronach - Wikinews, the free news source

And of course out here in B.C. we have the gay NDP Member of Parliment Svend Robinson {"bend for a friend of Svend"!} stealing a $50,000 diamond ring for his gay lover. He was never charged with theft - "He's just a confused socialist - what's yours is mine"

CTV.ca | NDP MP Svend Robinson charged with theft

The public wasn't even all that outraged about the Liberals stuffing their pockets with Taxpayer money - we just assumed that was what they were doing anyways.
