Country: | Larry I think I understand what your trying to say. Your obviously against gay rights. I agree with you, I believe Marrige is sacred between a man and a women. However, gays do have a right to live and to go to school. If you don't want your kid to learn about gays than home school him (you can higher a tutor, their not that expensive.) I believe they should get history right. Honestly, I don't even think it matters whether a historical figure is gay matters. It won't change history and ultimately it will make people not want to investigate themselves for fear they will find a gay person. However, I do find having sex with a member of your own sex to be discusting. Unfortunately, not everyone shares this feeling or view and as such cannot force my view upon eveyone. I can debate it, but I can't force it.

Country: | & historical figures being gay is an educational issue. Why lock up the thread when others are interested in it? It is relevant to the direction the thread went into.
& no one should have to home school their children because of special interest groups intrusions be they the moral majority, gay lobby etc. The only fair way to teach is to stick to the three R's, reading, writing & arthimatic.
Not so much against gay rights Chief, but firmly against gay ed programs. Simply on the discrimination card, not ok to teach other views on the subject,( Exodus for example ), & not ok to teach other lifestyle teachings be they Christian, Buddhist, Atheist etc. They are all life/philosophy views. | |

That is why chatrooms are valuable, so other ideas can be presented & others can discuss, learn, & perhaps evolve to a degree. What proof do you have that Adler is abusing his powers. All he said was to get back on topic. And regardless Even if he did call this topic stupid, which he didn't, he has a right to his opinions. He has those rights cause he fought and is still fighting for them.
